Hello,
What do you all use to back up your external hard drives to other external hard drives?
Using a Windows 10 PC I'm running MS Synctoy - whilst it's usually pretty good, it takes a long time to scan the 4TB drives I have my The Cure stuff on so the backups can take the better part of a day.
Does anyone have anything quick and simple to use that clones changes (additions and removals) from one drive to another ?
Also, if you don't back up your drives, you're asking for trouble. I can regale you with a tale of woe about a time I didn't back my drives up. But it's not very interesting, though it is very sad.

<crickets> Righto then.. well I found a web-page that showed me tips on using command line scripts via batch files. Much faster than SyncToy without any of the hassle and failures.

If you care about your data, always use at least 3 external backup disks in addition to your source disk. If someone is interested in a backup strategy to never ever lose music files again, just shout.

I now have all my ext HDs backed up to clones of themselves. it's expensive but worth it.
I'm yet to find a proper solution to backing up my Macaroni's HD.. Time Machine is stupid in the way that if you choose to back up to an external HD, like I want to, it forces you to use that HD for ONLY your backup... that's just dumb. I guess I'll need to tee up an AUTOMATOR job to copy the stuff across but it doesn't remove deletions from the source drive at the destination drive. VERY annoying.. Some stuff on Macs is just too dumb to deal with..
