My first thought was how the hell it's possible someone records the whole album with The Cure covers whereas our dear RS is still hiding their new album somewhere on his vast desk. I didn't like it, it's as the new era when nothing but covers is possible to hear has come... I felt a sting of sadness somewhere inside me. So I haven't even listened to these covers yet.
But I don't see And I don't feel But tightly hold up silently My hands before my fading eyes And in my eyes Your smile
I mistook stars reflected in a pond at night for those in the sky.

Eeeww, I don’t like it at all.
Edited to add: Anyone else catch the irony of her name (stage name, probably more accurately?) in light of the lyrics for A Foolish Arrangement?

Yep...
Still didn't listen to them, good to know my reluctance is justified
Sorry but I have a very big problem with The Cure covers. I've never heard even one I could honestly call a worth-to-listen-more-than-once.
The Walk: Hahahah yeah I dig it. It's like a full jazz Lovecats version of The Walk you'd see playing in the background on a TV show that has the typically shown attractive curvy woman fronting a jazz band.
Charlotte Sometimes: Oh I do like the piano, and her vocals, the whole thing really. It' a very "modern" cover. The way it ends seems so "now".. I don't know how to explain it. Well, that's not true, I could probably sit here typing the explanation out, but I start work in ten minutes and I need to make another coffee, tee up some bootlegs to listen to, and you know, work... eyeroll...
The Cure covers for me are bittersweet. I can appreciate some of them, but each time I hear one I instantly compare it to the original, and they always fall short.
That is a happy (?) coincidence about her name, I wonder if she knows about A Foolish Arrangement? Man, I love that song.
If you have a lead on Brisbane 21 August 1992 - CT version, for the love of Bob, let me know. Please!
