Bandcamp is brilliant. I have over 400 albums in my library there. The only things I wish they changed would be 1. Make an Android-TV app to stream my library on my TV. 2. Change the listening quality outside the library (free) from 128k mp3 to 128k AAC or better. I've made some once in a lifetime discoveries there, the followers buying notifications are great.
One good thing about music, when it hits you feel no pain So hit me with music, hit me with music

I think they've really hit a nerve (in a good way) this year. Their subscriptions are up. There are far more bands on there than there was a year ago. This whole model is a bit of a win win really. If they are successful, the bands will also be more successful in terms of being able to reinvest to make new music & buy themselves something to eat.
Someone published music including test tones on Tidal to test the quality of MQA encoding. The results are shocking. Goodbye lossless, welcome MQA? Mqa seems to mess up even CD quality material pretty bad, adding noise and other artifacts.
Alternate masters or giving mastering engineers full control over the streaming versions is a good thing in theory but after watching the above video you will only see nightmares about Tidal.

Spotify has been bombing me with 3 months for 10,99eur offers for a long time. I would never give that much money to them even if it was for one year at that price. I'll just listen to the ads when I use it.
