Well, it seems my vaccine registration's in the system now according to the website. So I should get a call any day soon.
They just opened vaccines for everyone over 16 here. It's mayhem trying to get appointments. I'm glad I got the ball rolling a month ago. I'm set for second shot on Saturday. Also, the Johnson & Johnson vaccine has been temporarily suspended in the US

Some updates…
My kiddo made it through his quarantine period with nothing more than the sniffles and has returned to normal life. We were truly lucky that he never had anything more than mild cold-like symptoms.
I got my second dose last Friday afternoon. Was fine all day. Saturday woke up with a headache, body aches, slight temperature, and fatigue. I was slightly miserable and pretty useless all day. Then woke up Sunday morning like Saturday never happened. It was kinda crazy! Regardless, happy to have both doses in me.

Be well, everyone!
Congrats on all fronts! That vaccine reaction sounds all too familiar... Now you can all breathe a little easier, I hope.
Having trouble with the after effects of second vaccine shot. It wasn't pleasant after the first one but worse now. Very much like after effects of chemo, hopefully more short lived. Seems to be amplifying the RA problems. I kind of knew it was coming as I don't do well with vaccines, even the yearly flu shot, but is worse than expected. Hoping to get back on food today. Tried yesterday but it didn't go well.
PS: don't let my experience put you off from getting vaccinated. I'm told everyone has a different experience. I'm pretty sure a lot of my trouble stems from mixing the vaccine with the exotic drugs I have to take.
Quick update: the situation in Ontario is so dire that I abandoned ship and went out west. I packed up everything I could, donated the rest and found myself a new place to live in a different province. Good thing I left when I did too, because apparently some of the provincial border crossing will be closing down shortly. The rest of the country is in such bad shape too, and soon enough hospitals won’t be able to treat everyone who requires care. Ontario has a ‘stay at home’ order, meaning that pretty much everyone in that province is homebound for the next six weeks. Oh and vaccines are only available to those 56+ (I believe), and to Indigenous folk who are 40+. The vaccine rollout has been a disaster, and measures taken to curb the spread of COVID have been laughable/ or taken too late.
From the sounds of it, we’re screwed.

I'm keeping my fingers crossed that things will start improving. My whole fam is in Ontario. Actually my sister in law is now working as an ICU nurse even though she isn't one normally - because there isn't enough personnel and not enough beds. It blows my mind that this crisis is happening a full year after we've been through this here in NY - it just does not make any sense! Back then - no-one was prepared, we had no tools, no drugs, no tests, no equipment and no clue that the virus was dripping from the walls - It's VERY DIFFERENT now - so I just can't wrap my mind around this situation north of the border... At all. Hope for some progress.... take care!

Oh, wow, @missdanielle. I am so sorry you have so much chaos right now what with moving and the crisis situation. Please stay safe and take care.
I cannot believe, at this late stage, they have botched things so badly...
Danielle Whoa that's drastic. Terrible that you've felt you had to do this & also pretty shocked the situation up there is actually this bad after all this time. But take heart. We are always a few button pushes away if you need to vent, listen to good tunes & spend a bit of time with friends. Take care & hugs to you
Thank you inez4bears, @notkristie, & steve for your kind words! inez4bears - I sincerely hope your family will make it through this awful time unscathed. Glad to hear things south of the border are improving though!
steve - the move was actually in the works for a while. I had moved to Ottawa in mid-2019, so I hadn’t had much of an opportunity to establish relationships with co-workers or make new friends prior to Covid. So, essentially I was on my own for a year. Had I gotten extremely ill, I don’t know who would’ve taken care of my pets, and honestly, the loneliness got to me. I fully intend on returning once we’ve regained control over Covid, but for now I’m pretty content being back in a familiar place full of familiar people!
