I am not getting why they are all on platforms. Isn't it infinitely easier to have a barrier fence enclosure for each group? Not to mention cheaper. The other thing is the distance from the stage. That's insane unless there's a monitor in each enclosure but then that kind of defeats the object really.

I feel it nightmarish and dystopian, no matter how you look at it.

While it’s certainly not ideal, I’d be willing to sit in one of those platformy boxes for the evening just to hear live music again.

I don't. I don't think it doesn't look like like a concert at all. To me, it looks like some kind of weird punishment. I have tickets for Mad Cool 2021, Faith No More and Pixies will be there. I love both bands, but If it's going to be that way, I will ask for my money back. I will never enjoy something like that.
And by the way, at least here in Spain, there is no problem in being packed like sardines in the underground, planes and trains. It makes me sick.

But isn't that kind of already the situation we're all in?. I admire that they are at least trying but they also touted the idea of drive-in gigs which eventually was canned. Thing is, this isn't a million miles away from that concept is it? Except instead of 5 of you in a car, there's 5 of you in a little sheep pen having parked your car & been escorted to your enclosure.

While the setup for the concert itself might work, what about bathrooms and such? Wouldn't that end up making this configuration moot?

I see your point, but I fear we will be waiting quite a while for things to get back to normal, so for me personally, I’ll take what I can get. I just miss hearing live music so much that sitting in a box for one night isn’t a deal breaker for me.
side note - I absolutely love Spain, it’s so beautiful and the food, oh the food! 🥰

Fun (but TMI) fact, I’ve never had to use a washroom during a show! I think all those kegel exercises I do have paid off. 😄

Did Smash Mouth tour there? Political rallies?,,,,,,
I have no idea what that means but no on both counts.
Smash Mouth played to huge crowd at Sturgis motorcycle rally, many infections followed in multiple states. High price to pay for "All Star". We won't get into political rallies but there has been a problem. The Secret Service has been decimated by multiple infections trying to cover the travel, not to mention the crowds. It was sarcastic...

I knew about Sturgis going ahead but have little to no interest in motorcycles really. Anyone with half a brain could have predicted the fall out. If I recall correctly, South Dakota had zero cases & yet they let thousands of bikers from all over the country pour into the town. Morons. Hungary has now closed its borders. Nobody from abroad is allowed to enter & Hungarian nationals returning need to self quarantine for 14 days or provide 2 negative test results.
