Hi All, I have never been on a forum before so it’s a bit strange. I am English but live in America. I have been a fan of The Cure since 1980 when I heard Primary on a late night radio show. No band before or since have had the same affect on me. Life’s twists and turns have left me in a situation whereby I know absolutely nobody that shares my passion, especially my family. I essentially only listen to The Cure when I am alone, as a married man it’s a bit limiting. Anyway I just read about the upcoming 30th anniversary Disintegration tour later this year. There is no way I am missing it and will be at one gig at least for sure. I wondered whether anyone out there suffered from the same plight and wanted to get to know me with a view to meeting up at a gig so as not to be a loner. I had to go to the Columbia, Maryland gig on my own a couple of summers ago, it didn’t diminish the experience but would have been better with company. Anyway, let me know. If it matters I am a young looking 54 year old living in Williamsburg. Va
Hi mallard and welcome to the forum You know something? I really don't know if I'm breaking protocol by typing a welcome before Steve does but Steve deals with behaviour issues very professionally so I'll brave it
I hope that you get to like the place, it's a right good mix of deep, poetic, daft, personal and nerdy, at least it is for me.
There's always meet ups at the gigs, you'll be in for a warm welcome at the gig...stay online here and interact when you're in the mood. Folk is friendly here
Being new to this forum mullarkey I now realize it is de rigeur to have a Cure related mon!ker. Therefore I am going to rebrand myself. I almost went for the drowning man but have decided to be henceforth known as untitled. How the hell do I affect this change. Anybody? Technology is my nemesis!

Hi and thanks. The mallard thing is a family nickname. No idea what you guys talk about on here so I will ask a question to you all and see where it goes: was anyone in the 1986 Glastonbury thunderstorm? That was my single greatest Cure moment.
I missed the storm thank heavens. But I was there in 1990 to hear the Cameroon score.....oh & the helicopter airlifting someone out. There's a pretty good live board here thecurecommunity.freeforums.net/board/50/cure-live You might find similar experiences from others, but feel free to start a thread or join in any of the discussions. A lot of us went to the same shows before we even knew each other here. The world is a very small place
