The acoustic still sounds thin to me , it just doesn't ring like he used to.
I agree, it sounds so cheap compared to his 12 strings ovation... i really don’t like the schecter sound (or maybe some other changes in their gear) for years now. It is not as ample, wide as it was in 1992. If you listen « End » the sound was so much deeper, bassy and darker than now, and i am not speaking about playing, just the sound. well, it is my humble opinion

I honestly think that Roberts Schecters are fine guitars with good pickups and quality construction which makes them much more reliable in a tour setting. I feel like the real culprit to his worsened sound is the Roland Cube amps that he is using for several years. Even though they are solid state amps and easier to take care, they are still entry-level bedroom amps.
Regarding his acoustic sound, of course the Ovation sounded much more full because it is a 12 string, every regular 6 string will sound thinner in a mix compared to it.

The real culprit is Robert, he's been in the game long enough to understand exactly what he wants from his arsenal and to make sure that he gets it. No-one has an issue with Simon's sound and those Schecters are made on the very next bench to Robert's.
I have a Cube (bedroom sized!) and it sounds fine , a big fat warm sound and thats before I do anything with it.
am i the only one that thinks these guitars are....erm....f—king ugly😖
Nope. They have become more sleek over the last couple of years & the new paint job is helping. It has to be said that they are a darn sight easier on the eyes than that Ovation Breadwinner monstrosity
