I thought i'd give the Harley benton VS a go as it's way cheaper than a Fender. Really great sound and can certainly get Roberts sound so I'm happy. picture didn't work here's a link.

Here is Roger’s Emulator 4. He used this on the Mood Swings/Bloodflowers albums. It’s all over trilogy too. Still contains studios files and all the live sounds some of which he still uses today! On top are some disks from the Kiss Me tour and DX7 cartridges that Lol would have used on tour. The pedalboard is a copy of Simon’s board plus his current settings..,

Yes the Metalzone has got a particular sound I must say. Simon had migrated over to the BB-1x maybe because it’s a bit more forgiving than the MT-2. Would like to add that in a live situation the FOH engineer takes a feed pre-fx so basically a dry feed, he then blends that dry feed with SG’s effected sound etc

wow, never knew that was how they did it. why would that be? you'd think the post-fx sound would be already what the artist intends so why not just take that?
Simon has said in interviews that he basically just plays and lets the engineer do what they need to do albeit usually in a studio situation! It’s a common thing live and it’s usually a sound reinforcement thing. Take the song Disintegration for example, SG uses an overdriven sound and without the blended dry sound it will lose a bit of definition and clarity…
