Went to see them on Thursday in Syracuse with my friend hairqween and I must admit they were tight! Boy George sounded phenomenal. I was pleasantly surprised. I'm trying to copy my FB video but it's not working. I live streamed a little of 3 songs. The very first song they did was Let's Dance by David Bowie and it was fabulous! czuczu
CC was my first real "band fandom" experience. I think I had both Kissing to Be Clever and ColOUR by Numbers on vinyl. I wanted to join (or did?) the mail fan club at age 9 and really wanted to go to their show.
I'm pleasantly amazed to hear they sounded good and glad you had a good time, Pipperoo!
George sure has been through a lot. Didn't one of the original members pass away, or am I confused? Did the lineup have any original members other than George?
I don't think I've ever seen CC, I may have caught George at a festival in the 90s but that whole era is very blurry now!
Love all the old CC stuff and he's got an amazing voice I'm always surprised how teflon he is considering the scandals he gets himself into - if a popstar handcuffed a woman to a wall and beat her them I'm pretty sure that would be end of career but it doesn't seem to have had any long term effect on his popularity :/
He's always been a flag waver for Bowie ever since the Blitz Kids days, was kind if surprised he wasn't any of the tributes after his death. Good cover too
@notkristie Nope. All of the original members were there. They sounded fantastic. Better than the B52s who came on before them. Kay sounded great. Fred was ok. But Cindy sounded horrible and they had their mics up too high so it sounded like they were all voice. I was sort of disappointed in them.
You know George said some nasty stuff about our Robert a long time ago(he called him a miserable cnt on Twitter) so I was angry at him for a while but I will forgive him because he has been through a lot. I read his autobio. Really went through a lot. Plus I always thought he had a thing for Robert in the 80s anyway and really who didn't? Girls AND Guys. Even straight guys.. winky
czuczu Really fab version of Let's Dance. Apparently they have been opening all of their shows with it. Here is a better version from another show.
PS He actually sounds like he has a cold here. He was flawless and strong at our concert.

Oh and yeah czuczu he's no altar boy. haha Sadly, I don't see him maintaining this good little boy stance forever. I hope I'm wrong but his history shows how restless he can become. I just don't think the man is comfortable in his own skin and he gets bored. But isn't he a Buddhist now?

Aw, sorry to hear the B52’s weren’t quite up to snuff. Another huge part of my adolescence.
I hadn’t heard BG called RS the “c” word. He was probably just jealous he wasn’t fancied by him. I should put that autobiography on my list.
Oddly, I was really attracted to Boy George at a tender age, before I truly had an understanding of what it meant to be a gay man. I guess I’ve always had a thing for guys in makeup.
@notkristie we were in the upper section to the right of the stage and I could see his piercing eyes without even looking at the video screen. He is quite handsome.
