i used to shop at barnes & noble a lot but now they tend to irritate me more than anything now. the constant effort to upsell stuff i don't want (membership in their stupid "club", credit cards etc). also, @ my local store they rearranged the shelves so that it is hard to shop. they used to put all the new releases at the beginning of the section, so was easy to browse quickly. now its all mixed up & it takes a lot longer to shop.

Hey, chuckrh! Good to "see" you.

Yeah, believe me, it's not my first choice. It was a matter of convenience as it's near the gym and I had limited itme. I would much rather browse an indie book store. I didn't spend any $ there, at least.

Aw, man, I feel you. I think we're in the same vicinity.

About 8 years ago this time of year we did have a tornado go down our street. Somebody's roof landed in the middle of the Avenue and a church lost its stained glass window. The air outside our window on the 5th floor turned green and opaque. That's when I moved to the stairwell.

Dropped the cheerleader off to training (she trains oneand a half hour).
Went home to find the old daughter’s guinea pig dead...

Buired him and had a mini funeral(party)
Moved his stuff and moved the furnitures over, now we had som extra space.

Amazing what you can do in an hour’s time...

First I had to get up at 7:30, and that is really painful to do on a sunday!
Then my friend picked me up for a quick workout (the reason I had to get up this early, so it’s actually two in obe pain plus bonus...)

Then I went horse riding for 4-5 hours... And that is why my arse hurts! Or not (just) hurts, but REALLY HURTS! AND my legs...

I’m sore all over my body, and I’m really really (NOT) looking forward to ride my bike 7,5 km to work (and 7,5 km home again)

Ohhh I also cleaned the house when I came home fron the horses...

But my butt really hurts...

It wasn’t difficult to stay on the horse, because I reached a point, where my legs couldn’t move, so I just had to sit there hahaha

And cleaning was a tempt to stay active, and avoiding to get cold, because I then wouldn‘t be able to move for a week then...

But Yesterday I had TWO naps after work, and went to bed early, because my body was very tired - but at least not as sore as expected...

Well my arse was sore, so I didn’t sleep lying on my back for two nighte hahaha

I hurt myself again today. That makes the third time this week. Am I subconsciously trying to do this?

I came home and stabbed myself in the hand with the tines of a fork that was in the dishwasher bad enough to break the skin and cause pretty profuse bleeding.

Saturday night I burned the living cr@p out of my thumb enough that I went to urgent care.

Last Tuesday I bit it while carrying groceries home by doing a face plant at full speed.

Maybe I should just stay in bed?

Today was really weird!!! Good-weird...

Short story long:

There is this doctor - I think he is a little older than me, and he is NOT the small talk type... it’s not because henisn’t friendly or kind.

It can be a very long surgery, when you just stand there for hours with nothing to talk about. Normally I chat and joke with the other doctors and nurses, but this guy is different.

Maybe it’s because I’m the new kid...

Well, the last few months he started to loosen up. He actually said goodmorning to me some time ago!!!

OKAY!
Today he asked another doctor if she was going to a festival, and I asked about the line up, and he told me, tha one of his favorite bands should play.
This is the conversation:

Him: one of my all time favorite bands is playing!

Me: ohhh they played (at a local venue) for 20 years ago or so

Him: they have the best guitarist in the world - Johnny Marr, do you know a band called the Smiths?

Me: errrr yes, and I don’t really like them... well most because of Morrissey, and well I’m a huge fan of the Cure, it’s my alm time favorite band in the whole world!!!

Him: OHHH I also love the Cure! Which album do you think is the best?

Me: this is the same as if someone asked me to choose between my daughters...

And then I mentioned that I really like Pornography (the album that is) and he got very excited about Pornography (the album)
And then we had a great talk about Pornography (still the album) and Kiss me x 3, and he said that he now would go home and listen to that album.

I have never said pornography so many times in a surgery room as I did today hahaha

But You know... that feeling, when some unexpected share your taste in music is WONDERFUL!

And while writing this, I got a text from another colleague, whom mentions the interview in the Guardian (I saved the interview till I’m going to bed), so I have been bombed with the Cure from unexpected sides today!
