So other than the bands on the bill for the birthday gig, who do you all think he'll have?
Shame the Cocteau Twins are no more. They would have been a good bet.
My bet is maybe some smaller, more obscure bands he likes that perhaps wouldn't fit well into an arena bill. Folks he believes in and to whom he wants to grant some exposure.
The venues in the festival look on the smaller to mid-range size, seat wise, I think? Save
fatrabbit of course The Gremlins band will be in the bill. cranes,The Jesus And Mary Chain perhaps Sioux (if she is still active) Wouldn't get surprised if he would ask for Marc Almond to perform as well. What about Billy Corgan, maybe?
65 dos once they 've been their support act during 4 Tour and he released a single with them back then. The Mission or even Wayne Hussey as a solo performance?
Wouldn't hurt me if he was going to ask Placebo to join as well.
Crystal Castles have had some fairly serious issues to deal with since their collaboration or support slots - I'd guess they're an unlikely booking.
Not unusual for the Meltdown to have a themed variety night with a load of singers/musicians on a single bill - Jarvis Cocker's Disney night is legendary!

there were some issues with his royal putzedness, billy corgan.
Massive Attack curated a few years ago (and were responsible for Grace Jones' comeback - she was amazing!). They also had an orchestral Blade Runner night but I missed that
Tricky played Meltdown when Lee Scratch Perry was the curator - it was essentially an instrumental gig due to the perfect storm of lost voice and faulty mic... Public Enemy were great that year
