"Wendy Time" is quite old actually, in context of these songs (on Wish album), It was actually based on a Hammond organ which has completely disappeared now. I think it is in the song for about two seconds. That´s sort of the thing about some of these songs. They start odd as one thing... It was really slow and it was kind of almost "bluesy" sort of song. The good thing about it, is that probably when we play live with a lot of these songs, that will keep changing. I think, as we sort of tire of one way of playing it and start playing it in different way - which, again, is quite unusual for us. We usually have definitive versions. I think that some of these songs, we even have three or four other versions recorded and there wasn´t even a consensus. I mean, certainly not this one. I used my power of veto to insist on this one, rather than some of the bit more Hammond organ-y ones, because I felt this suited mood of the album more.(Other Voices fanzine, no.30, 1992)
Every time I listen, I get lost. Maybe it is just me? I just remember singing along when I was little and thinking that maybe he didn't feel like singing the rest of the song so he sang a bunch of do do dos and it doesn't touch mes.....
it is true!! I just pulled it up on youtube and pulled up the cure's words on their site... this whole verse is missing:
"You really do need a sister" she said "You really do need a girl to call your own... like... Wonderful! Wonderful! Call me Wonderful!" And running her hands so slow "You stare at me all strange" she said "Are you hungry for more?" "I've had enough" I said "Please leave me alone Please go... Please go"

Laney, it looks like you're right (and here I was thinking you were High as a kite).... because my cds are all still in a box, I can't 100% confirm, but a blurry image on the interweb shows four verses on the 12" sleeve, not three that are sung on the recorded version. That makes me sad..
If you have a lead on Brisbane 21 August 1992 - CT version, for the love of Bob, let me know. Please!

this version is unlike the song in general... it is hard to understand but it sounds like he repeated the 3rd verse twice... and then the second. (91)
this one is similar to the studio version (no 4th verse) it does have all of the proper do do dos... (92)
Wait, I found what the first video is of; this demo (which is fantastic!!) doesn't match the lyrics at all. They should have put this one on Wish and made it a thousand times better - which is hard for me to say since Wish is my favorite.
