Pretty damn sick of hearing about the anniversary of Dr Pooper's Lousey Farts Club Band. Seriously, it's utter cr@p. So bad, in fact, that some doofus decided to try to make a stereo version of....cr@p. To quote a late friend of mine. "Ye cannae polish a jobbie"
Have you actually listened the new stereo mix or are you just spewing with no basis in facts? Giles Martin has done an amazing piece of work with it. The previous stereo version was a toss off in the age of mono & that carried through to the cd age. It sounds like an entirely different record now. There are amazing guitar parts that I have never heard before to name one aspect. Also, did you know that "doofus" previously worked with Kate Bush? Did you hate that , too? It's fine to not like a band but every work is its own entity. Like I don't care for Depechey Mode but I at least gave it a listen. It will be the only one but at least gave it a shot. & I really dislike the Hateful Fred (Grateful Dead) but I have heard most of their work. I even saw them once. Dare you to put on the new mix of Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds with headphones. It might change your opinion some. The things they were doing in the dark ages of recording are stunning & changed the face of pop/rock music. I dare say even the Cure was influenced by this, especially when they expanded their sound after Pornography.
Chuck I love ya but gongoro73 is correct you are really wasting your time with steve There is truly something about The Beatles he really does hate. He says it's because they are terrible but since he is in the major minority (there are a few others here who "say" they hate them) don't sweat it and don't waste your time. I have fixed the title properly. Please don't be a nudge and change it back steve Because that would be rude (and very un English of you). But Chuck give it up with him. It won't work. Seargent Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band is indeed my favorite Beatles album. Me and my honey were listening to that masterpiece yesterday on our way to Philly on THE BEATLES CHANNEL which is now on Sirius FM in case you didn't know. Channel 18!! They even have their own channel. So someone likes them.
Aww but he wrote it for Julian as a comforting lullaby! That's why it repeats so much. He wrote it after Cynthia and John got a divorce to "make it better" I often think Paul loved him more than his dad. Such a nice chap he is it seems too!
The Top 100 Beatles songs voted on from The Beatles Sirius XM channel. Agree with A Day in The Life as #1. It's a masterpiece.
