Do you think that Fly me to the moon part is a reference to a song written by Bart Howard? (sung by Frank Sinatra and others)

I'm also wondering about the artwork on this single. Is that painting done by P. Thompson?

Yeah, it was cause me 'n Mary got married last year and I couldn't think of what to give her for a wedding present (laughs) so I wrote her that song... cheap and cheerful... she would've preferred diamonds, I think, but... I dunno... she might look back and be glad I gave her that.
(I feel like I remember reading him say once that when Mary heard the song, she ran to him and covered him with kisses but my search for that quote is not yet productive...)
"I gave Mary a tape of it for a wedding present. She went away to the other room to listen to it, then smothered me with kisses. It's the most upfront, true, frank and honest thing I've ever sung. It's about love, but also about the inability to ever really know someone. I was disappointed with the video. The idea was a fairy cave going on forever, but it looked very cramped and posed. The opening shot is terrible, this lingering shot of a huge phallus that makes not pretentions to be a stalagmite at all."

The video is off putting and hilarious at the same time. Hilarious because only Cure fans are really going to know. At least I think. I have shown MANY non-Cure friends that video throughout the years and they think it's "hauntingly beautiful". I just giggle and say "yeah...beautiful....right..." Then I show them the Why Can't I be You video for S&G and that one is "Oh it's like YMCA!" Yeah Y is right. haha
