I do like my music to "rawk" & this band doesn't disappoint.
Fronted by Chris Catalyst (of The Sisters Of Mercy), they have just released their 3rd album Remain In Hope, which is their best yet. I pledged for it & was at the online launch party & seriously folks. This album will blow your socks off. As with all pledge projects, there were special "pledge only" downloads & Eureka machines offered acoustic demos, took requests to write a song about a random subject & also recorded a version of David Bowie's Heroes. & although the original is heavenly, the cover is truly incredibly well done.
You can hear Queen & The Beach Boys in their music which is (IMHO) the finest pop punk on the scene today. They also chime in with some seriously poignant balleds without going all "Aerosmith". What I find invigorating is that you can hear a band that are clearly enjoying what they do & not dancing to the record exec's tune. Give them a try.
as one sisters fan to another it is a big shame that chris` songwriting skills are ignored in mr. eldritch`s "not-so-gothic" band. but at the other hand mr. eldritch tends to ignore his own songwriting skills of late as well:)...so i guess no suprises there. i am curious if there will be any changes after new m*****n release. old habbits die very hard...another this corrosion maybe?

Highly doubtful. Mr E has maintained that he's not going to put out records anymore. Eureka Machines seem to be doing it just for the kick of doing it. That is evident in the energy & feeling of a band having fun. I don't think they make an awful lot from the releases, but the gigs are what pay the bills. Plus, with Remain In Hope being a pledge thing, they at least recouped the cost of making it & anything on top is a bonus. & you are right. Chris is a fantastic songwriter & the melodies he uses draw from such a huge amount of different influences that are also different from many that Eldritch drew from. But I don't think they are industrial enough for the Sisters. However, I do believe he has a say in what covers the Sisters play. Especially on the XXX tour.

well, yes. i was more thinking about some new songs played live (not cover versions and re-worked older stuff). how many new songs sisters included in their "ever changing" setlist after chris and ben joined the band? one ?
Love these. And they always seem to be at the Maze! Chris's g-string snapped (HIS GUITAR STRING GUTTER-MINDS!! ) right in front of us at Leeds a couple or so years ago with the Sisters, saw the blood bless him!
This is for the new album, tentatively titled ‘BRAIN WAVES’.
Also on offer is the new double DVD which might be called ‘Live At Leeds (Other Cities Are Available)’, which features the live sets from our upcoming home town gig at the Brudenell Social Club in Leeds on Sat 22 Nov, plus the legendary ‘lost’ live stream from our Wildhearts support at London Forum last year, as well as footage from the Manchester gig on the same tour. It also has all the promos, way more live footage and amusing commentaries.
You can also get your mitts on handwritten lyrics, cover songs of your choice, an ace new shirt, personalised drum heads, a beautiful A2 280gsm litho print of the cover for our last Pledge album, ‘Remain In Hope’….
…. and Chris’s favourite Iceman guitar.
We and you will also be raising money for MIND, the mental health charity, for whom we’re donating 10% of our target money. MIND provide support and information to make sure no-one has to face a mental health problem alone. The reasons for our support of this charity should become clear over the course of the campaign.
Tune in (do you still say that?) at 7pm THIS THURSDAY to the Pledge site to get involved. There’ll be all the usual updates and bonuses as we go along, starting almost immediately, as we give all the new Pledgesters an EXCLUSIVE four-track covers EP we’ve called ‘Remain In Eighties’ at 9pm Thursday.
As ever, we are reliant on your help to share this around your like-minded music fan pals, so we can get the numbers up. Please do share it around as much as you can on your Facebooks, Twitters, Bebos and MySpaces. You can also just tell people. Thank you.

To celebrate the new Pledge campaign going live, we’re doing a handful of gigs soon:
They’re all running low on tickets, so be advised, grab one if you want to come, paying on the door might not be possible. There’ll be more info on our Facebook and Twitter pages on the day of the gigs.
See you Thursday…. It would be great to have you along again.
Now you've said, I can see it'll be the same order as the studio album cover?
Yeppers. They have screeched through the target in less than an hour & a half. Seriously looking forward to it & I do hope they have a launch party like they had with Remain In Hope. That was a blast.
