There is a link in the article below for a listen of a new Jeff Beck song (album in a few weeks). It's a really beautiful song. Jeff is still vital & creative @ age 72. My favorite guitar player of all time. He changed my life in 197(cough cough) when he opened for Aerosmith in the late, unlamented Kingdome in Seattle. The "Rocks" tour for Aerosmith. It was my 4th concert ever. Jeff was backed up by the Jan Hammer Band. He came out & stated "this place sucks! welcome to the Kingdome echo chamber". He then proceeded to absolutely tear the place up. By the time he finished with his encore of "Train Kept A Rollin", Aerosmith just should've stayed in the dressing room. Another memorable show with him was a 1 off with Rod Stewart. Santana & Beck were touring together & did a weekend with Rod at the Gorge in Washington state. 1st it was 2 hours of bongomania with Carlos. Then came a wall of distortion & feedback that had the middle aged ladies there for Rod running out of the seating area with their hand on their ears. During his set, Jeff did an instrumental "People Get Ready" that was absolutely stunning. Evidently, he was supposed to come out with Rod & play it. Jeff decided that he wasn't up for that & left, leaving Rod with d*ck in his hand. Rod played "People" anyway but he really should've just left it alone. His version absolutely paled in comparison. I've seen Jeff many times over the years & he is never less than amazing. Always different, too. He's ending the USA part of his 50th anniversary tour here in Seattle, playing a small outdoor venue @ the zoo. I am so there! Anyway, check out the song. It's awesome!
