I don't think I have to say much for people to know how great these last 2 shows were. There are always surprises, beautiful ones like Jupiter Crash or Twilight Garden. But those encores...! I am content, but not sated because we always want more
Was delighted to meet forum members Danielle , builttoroam , AForestFan , and shardeh !!! I'm so sorry that we couldn't chat longer at the venue, but it was a pleasure. I have added you all to my traveling family
Thank you everyone who followed this thread for sharing this experience with me. Thanks Pipperoo and steve for all your assistance. This is just the beginning of many more months of music!!! How lucky we all are. Thank you, the Cure.
Good to meet Sang, who is going to see the Hawaii show next. She tells me she is making 10 shows this tour, an awesome accomplishment. Congratulations and great to meet you.
figie consider it as a small break from all the crazy people, ehm (me) that roam the TCC halls lurking to find Cure related material. Don't be stranger my friend..
Already i feel like something is missing... I think i said this one a little earlier but anyway, that's how i feel now. This way or other way i feel like i do LOVE all of you people of this Community, some more than some others,no matter if i have ever meet you in person or not makes no difference of how i feel inside. And all of this because of The Cure's Music (my soundtrack,my life's soundtrack) So... PLEASE COME BACK (ALL OF YOU)
With Love

This proves how powerful music is and how it unifies people. We don't need to come back because we haven't gone anywhere. Love to you too

I missed out on all the fun from earlier as was out and about to start work now but it seems like another wonderful night to finish this incredible leg of the tour! It has been so lovely having so many periscopes and reading all the comments and updates whilst The Cure have been playing live. I'm really looking forward to watching tonight's periscopes when I get a chance. I had also been wondering what everyone was doing over the next couple of weeks whether they were flying home or holidaying in Hawaii! I love th speculations. I truly can not wait for the Nz/Aus let of the tour! So far I only have Sydney planned (I booked flights for my partner and I today but am hoping to make it to Adelaide also!
violetsometimes Well since you asked. My family and I are heading to the grand Canyon today for a 3 day excursion. Heading to flagstaff this morning should be rather easy since everyone around town is working. I have downloaded most of the 2016 concerts that should keep me entertain during the trip. After I check into the Hotel, we are going to the Grand Canyon Observatory. I hope the weather cooperates because any slight rain will shut that place down. Weather permitting, I'll be hiking by tomorrow to the bottom of the canyon, possibly do some water rafting, and some ATV riding. All will be done while I listen to the 2016 North American Tour, city by city, day by day. Besides work, what are you doing for the next couple of weeks?
fiveswinglive What a wonderful holiday you have planed. I hoped you really enjoy it and the weather was good. I'm glad to hear you have chosen some lovely music for the trip! Wow! That sounds incredible! Have you been rafting many times before? I really hope the next few days are action packed and fun for you.
I start my second job tomorrow so a lot of work! Outisde of work not too much. I saw my partner off today as he flew up north to my hometown to help my Dad work for a couple of weeks when he returns we (including my younger brother) will go to the cat cafe before they have to go back to study (I think college is the equivalant?). In the mean time I'll be catching up on a lot of sleep, listening to The Cure a lot, ride my bike if it isn't too cold or rainy, hopefully seeing a few friends (I'm seeing one friend on Friday , go to a few appointments and planning the trip (trips?) to see The Cure!!!
sang , wow 10 shows? You must be made of money to afford all that. I'm really happy for you though, and hope you have a great time!
Thanks, and I wish I was made of money! 10 shows, but 5 cities. All of them had/have consecutive shows except Denver. Having consecutive shows was amazing...and the US has been really blessed to get 5 cities with consecutive shows. But we have quite a few members beating me by a mile at the number of shows they are going to this year. We exchanged our strategies and you'll find many of us cashed in reward airline miles, hotel points, shared rooms, Pricelined it, etc. to get to the show Of course, the older you get, the more resources you have too!
After finally getting home, I wrote a little journal entry for myself, it just poured out. Now I feel like sharing it : P Is there a thread for something like this?
My first moments of seeing The Cure for the first time:
I don't even know how to express my appreciation and gratitude for this band and their dedication to put on these amazing shows! Having the opportunity to be able to attend both Miami shows, I feel like the luckiest girl in the world. I'm still on a high and my face hurts from smiling so much. I must look crazy walking around with a huge constant dazed smile on my face, but I don't care!
On the first night, after The Twilight Sad (who I also enjoyed very much, that James seems sweet and adorable), the anticipation of waiting and knowing that I was about to see THE CURE come walking out onstage put my emotions in such a frenzy. I had a few drinks before the show to help calm my nerves a little and put me at ease. My heart was still fluttering like crazy though, and I was trying not to hyperventilate. I was sitting there wondering, my mind racing, "what are they going to open with?? Plainsong? Open? Out of this world? Possibly something different??" I was hoping and waiting to hear chimes.....
After a short while a finally hear something....it was the TAPE intro!! I let out a quick excited scream, jumped to my feet and started to cry. I still couldn't believe this was all happening, that this was real!! The crowd was cheering. I wiped away my tears and started cheering for the band too.
The second I saw Robert, my body froze. It was like time had stopped and everything was moving in slow motion. His cute adorable bow legged awkward little walk just made me melt. My whole body went flush and I almost stopped breathing. For that moment I thought I was going to faint. He picked up his guitar, threw the strap over his shoulder and adjusted himself. I just couldn't take my eyes off him. He looked so good, even better in the flesh!
Finally I hear Jason clack his drumsticks together four times, and BOOM it begins!!! Hearing and seeing Simon play his bass was so cool! Once the tempo started up for the song, that was it, I was completely engaged. I couldn't stop dancing and hopping around, I felt like I was the only person there.
I had so much fun and I'm so glad I finally got to experience these awesome performances! Both sets were amazing, Robert does an awesome job putting these setlists together. I mean what more could you ask for?
I can relate, the shows in Miami were my second and third times seeing them live, the first being a little over a month earlier in Las Vegas. In Vegas, I could see the boys from the side of the stage and the moment I saw RS I was done for, and proceeded to cry my little heart out throughout Plainsong. Sigh. They are AMAZING live. Must do it again.
Oh and I felt the same way about RS too, the love I felt as a 14 year old continues to this very day... After finally getting home, I wrote a little journal entry for myself, it just poured out. Now I feel like sharing it : P Is there a thread for something like this?
