Good evening everyone! Well, The North American Cure 2016 Tour is winding down. There are just about 5 more shows left. The guys are in Charlotte North Carolina tonight. Will they play Charlotte Sometimes? Or Will they do a cover of Bowie's Rebel Rebel? Probably not. Either way get ready for The Cure in Charlotte! We have our man finalsound on the scene and ready to report. I hope he has his Robert Translator aka the Smithalator with him. We love you with all of our hearts Robert and to the depths of our souls but yes, you mumble. haha xo
Stay tuned my lovelies for THE CURE IN CHARLOTTE!! (in honor of Charlotte I present Rainbow text for this evening)

Wow, talk about shuffle mode! The 3 song salvo at the end of the main set is kinda cool (Fascination, Hanging, Forest). Thanks to all for the reports. Like the rainbow text. Very appropriate. Although I'm straight my personal credo that I try to live by is as follows: Be who you want to be, do what you want to do, it's all good as long as no one gets hurt & I don't have to watch unless I want to. Came up with that myself & kinda proud of it. It's a pity that parts of the US are so backward. With all the talk of personal freedom, the knives come out if you dare to express it. I'll stop now, don't want to drag this into the political. Again, thanks to all.
Is Robert secretly lurking in the community "oh you think you know what to expect do you?" godwina that anarchy mindset you love so much!
I totally think he reads this forum. I have always thought that. Why not? Nobody would know. He is wise to read and not speak. He has always been a keen observer!! Good for you Robert!!
I agree. Its pretty obvious he cares about his fans & this is best place to get a finger on the pulse. I've looked at other Cure forums & this one is by far the best! It seems that the artists I like who are fan friendly (keeping prices reasonable for example) seem to have at least nominal involvement with the fan forums. Examples: Flaming Lips, Wilco, & Drive-by Truckers. Patterson from Drive-by actually responds to fans facebook posts. Not conincidentally the tickets for the next show are only $25 in a small club. They could definitely play a bigger place & charge more. The Cure could easily charge more for tickets than they do & I for 1 would be happy to pay.
The sound is so awful that I don't have even slightest chance to understand what Robert is saying Sometimes I don't even know what he's singing
Apologies if this has been brought up before (sorta newbie) but back in the day when Robert was interviewed in 120 Minutes on MTV they used subtitles. Haha. I can get a lot of what he says but I have to pay attention. I've had more trouble with (drunken) Scottish friends in the past. Of course, I was "adjusted" too!
Well, that has to be the oddest set of the tour right? But even so, what a great read Sorry to leave Pipperoo flying solo with the updates tonight. But what a wonderful job you did & a big tip of the hat to finalsound who was practically melting over there in the heat Thanks also for all the scopes , although reading the comments, it seems the sound quality wasn't the greatest. Lastly, but not leastly Thanks to all you insomniacs for sticking around. Wouldn't be the same without you. I'm making a concerted effort to be right as rain (see what i did there? ) for the remaining mainland shows & very curious to see how paulwUK will categorise this mainset in the stats Top nite everbuddy
Actually 29 songs of them are singles. One was going to be but the record company had another opinion back then (Doing The Un-Steve) One song from a soundtrack compilation (The Crow) And two new songs (which might be a single each in the near, near future) So it was a SINGLES Concert at all,a compo of Standing On A Beach & Galore plus some new ones, not bad at all for a change.

Morning gongoro73, i think you will have to wait for the European Dates for this kind of change you are asking for. Otherwise for the remaining dates of NA Tour just wait for the usual ones. Heavy Disintegration/Wish/BF songs-sets. Not bad at all if you ask me. I love The Cure's music no matter what. Even the weakest songs, but that's me.
great concert in charlotte , very special opening with pictures of you . also the debut of mint car on this tour is a pleasant surprise . hopefully some recording of this concert . thanks for the live report .
