I'm a massive fan of the comics, so I'm a bit wary of watching the show in case it doesn't measure up. But everyone seems to love it so I might watch it on Netflix.

LemonLies, I understand your feelings, but really, even though it's the same story, it's almost like an alternative version. Not even close to the comic book but equally good. Remember that Kirkman is part of the production staff, so he wouldn't let his own masterpiece go to hell right?
Give it a chance, I personally think both are really, really good (and I'm usually on the book/comic side).
I don't think I make use of all this time. Oh kill me kiss me once, and then we'll throw it away.

I know, I know. My friend loves it as much as I do and he thinks the series is brilliant. I was the same with Watchmen, and to be fair, I liked the movie. It's actually less about the story and more about the visuals for me. I struggle with comics being translated to 'real life' unless they're as visually striking as the comic.
I'll definitely give it a go now based on your recommendation :-)

I was quite concerned about it too. But I've been very pleasantly surprised. I think it stays pretty true to the original work. The special effect makeup is some of the best I've seen. And about the acting..well there's both over acting, under acting and right in spot acting I'm bitten.. *must punish self for being lame*
