Just got back from Lol's event in Chicago (actually, he has several events here). Surprised that it was a very intimate crowd...I would estimate less than 20 people. It was hard to count behind me. And I was one of only two people, other than the moderator, who asked him a question.

The event coordinators only had 4 books available for sale (I mean, seriously...). Luckily, I came prepared, like a girl scout, errr brownie, really. As everyone else reports, he was so nice and approachable. Some people had bagfuls of stuff for him to sign, and he graciously did. I only had my book, ha. If I had slept more than 3 hours the previous night maybe I would've stayed for his djing, but I am sadly very boring and tired so retired early. Did meet a couple awesome women though, one of which had a lot of cute pics of her with Robert. So many lucky people in the world!

I know Lol's book tour is coming to an end in the States, but I think it's worth going because he's so open to chatting about anything. Well, except for people who wanted him to dish dirt on Robert. He's way too kind for that!

I don't know about you, but I hated the moderator. I felt bad for Lol when he was trying to get him to say something bad about Robert... he just kept prodding him. I just thought that wasn't cool.

Too bad, would've loved to meet you. Would be funny if you sat next to me at the event! But let me know if you live in the Chicagoland area. I don't live there, but occasionally have reason to go up so who knows, our paths could cross again. And yup, was really annoyed at the moderator when he kept asking Lol for dirt. Totally uncool.

So glad to hear that you had a good time. I am looking forward to next year as he has promised an East Coast Book tour. I had the pleasure of Meeting Lol and his wife Cindy back in 2004. That was a great experience, and I'm looking forward to seeing him again.

Thanks Sang!! - Actually since you said you asked a question, I know exactly who you are (one of the two!!).
My friends and I arrived late (traffic) and stood in the back near Martin Atkins...
I'm actually from the northern suburbs.
I think Lol was a total professional with the moderator... I would not have been! I have more of a Roger attitude, so I would have said something snarky.
He was the nicest to me and I was total mess. I completely forgot to ask him my real questions and messaged him on Instagram to apologize for being so odd. hahahaha!

I would definitely suggest you get it. it's an interesting read and you get to see/hear Lol's perspective on being in the band.

If you have a lead on Brisbane 21 August 1992 - CT version, for the love of Bob, let me know. Please!

Has Robert said anything about it? Lol says he hasn't heard from him but if he didn't like it he would have heard that.
I know there was that quip in Denmark(?) when he was talking about the walk(?) and said "you can read it in my book... you can read it in Simon's book" - but was that a remark on Lol? Or is there something else?

I know Roger has said something....we all know Roger has said something.....

I very much enjoyed the back story of learning about how they formed, what happened, immediately googling the top of the pops performance to see Robert's bandage thumb...
I laughed at the part some guy called him Tollhouse. I cringed when he climbed into that girl's bathroom... I felt like I was with him..
At the same time, it felt like he was saying "please, please Robert, please let me in the band again..." He never said it. He hasn't said it. He may or may not say it. He may or may not want it... I just felt it was....curious.

Buy the book.... I've bought 4 already!

Someone else had posted something about Roger not being "Cured" and then Roger laughed about it saying something about not wanting to reply because he wouldn't be able to stop.
