Again, one of my favourite as I won't talk about songs I don't like.
I'll be fair, I don't understand the song but I burn to.
So I will play dumb with simple questions:
1/What Robert means whith this "It's not a case"?
Does it mean "It's not a big deal", 'it's not a goal", "it's not the subject" or something else?
2/In the described relationship, who's the one with bad behaviour? Robert or the girl?
My thoughts: The singer is the one with the bad behavior I would suspect (depending on how you look at it of course). "It's not a case" or meaning it's not fact or the norm. it's all about his wants, his needs and he could care less what the other person wants or needs. Plus the other person is just an actor in the play. A la Shakespeare "All the world's a stage, And all the men and women merely players; They have their exits and their entrances." The play being his world and they are just a tiny, meaningless, piece of it that is passing through. I have always thought this to be a very nasty song. However, another piece of it could be the singer is trying to tell the other person "Hey! You knew what I was like before but you persisted and now you want to change me?" There is that possibility as well.
Been intrigued by the lyrics of the song for a while... It's just your part in The play for Today.. Sometimes it's feels like that, you just Play a part in the everlasting rhythm of life that goes round and round and round.
- Your songs aren't very exactly happy. Are you an introvert and depressed kind of person ?
Robert : Yes, I suppose. I'm usually very quiet, but I can do excessive things. Not because I want to show myself like this, but because I can't stand rules and I want to prove that you can break them sometimes. But most of the times, I write when I'm really depressed. Just, it's not what people are depressed about usually, like jobs or money... it's less obvious situations. I wrote all the songs from Seventeen Seconds just after breaking up with the girl who was my girlfriend for the last five years. Anybody would be depressed in that case. I recovered.

Why is there a video for the song, altough it was not expected to be a single, or was it?
My guess is that it was a possible single choice, perhaps for a different region to Europe or something & the band (or, more likely the label) changed their mind.
