i scored awesome tickets for the seattle show on presale. not cheap but not horribly expensive. with roger, you can see where the money goes in the production. looking forward to it!
Brit Floyd night So far, so good. Only one of the guitarists is really nailing Dave's tone though, the other started tapping and divebombing in one song which was a bit odd. Signed merch available in the foyer, hmmm...

They are great. I've seen them twice. I would like to hear more of your critique.
I liked them as a night out! I didn't get to see much of the lights cos I was front row but the projections were all OK.
Setlist was:
Cluster One What Do You Want From Me Welcome to the Machine Coming Back to Life Another Brick in the Wall Part 2 Lost for Words One of These Days Us and Them Any Colour You Like Brain Damage Eclipse Astronomy Domine Pigs on the Wing 1 Dogs A New Machine, Pt.1 Terminal Frost Time Breathe (Reprise) The Great Gig in the Sky Money Wish You Were Here Shine On You Crazy Diamond (Parts VI-VII) Comfortably Numb Not Now John Run Like Hell
Cluster One is a great choice for an intro and let them bring the band on slowly. I was completely sold on the guitarist on the right and the bassist who covered most of the vocal duties between them and were note perfect - both very cool. I wasn't a big fan of the guitarist on the left who just couldn't resist adding details to every song, there's already a lot going on without adding extra harmonics and widdles here and there (kind of like Roger's band when I've seen them). I might be being a bit unkind because I had seen Dave do the real thing shortly before which really isn't a fair comparison.. The Animals stuff was great, really epic. But then Money was really extended at the expense of all the good parts of Crazy Diamond which were skipped. Argh! Comfortably Numb kind of tailed off without going for the big notes, it was really short too which was a surprise. Any Colour You Like was great and the multi-instrumentalist chap hiding at the back of the stage nailed the sax parts.
We get at least one Floyd tribute touring here every year, I like them but they are expensive when there's so much other stuff to see. I'd be up for seeing one of the tributes try something different - unplugged or something like that!
Its well worth seeing, I'm guessing its going to follow the Bowie exhibition on tour once the V&A run is over. Even the gift shop is great, bought myself the big fat hardback book, looks gorgeous
Jonathan Wilson & David (?) Killminster. Killminster has been with Roger long time. Jonathan Wilson I'm told is a big deal. He has Joey Waronker on drums, too. I've heard several tapes. Things are definitely clicking more with the band the farther they get into the tour. There's some ugly too. The pig has a certain president painted on the side. I think the pyramid is looking really really cool.
quote about the roger waters show from LA: "A fierce examination of the big picture is rare for a rockstar of Waters’ stature; he’s the only guy left from the first wave of “dinosaur” rock bands who still fights with the fire and passion of a teenage anarchist in a Dead Kennedys shirt".
