Finally got to 2005. Currently listening to 01.09.2005 Malakassa - Terravibe (Greece) 'Terravibe Festival'.
I was working at a call center then, doing Ford warranty support over the phone. ("Yes, the 1999 Taurus engine is still under warranty. Here is the part number.")
My big treat after work was to stop at Circuit City and buy the The Cure's eponymous album of that year. I played it a couple times and went back to work... What a let-down. To go from purchases like Kiss Me to this, buying Cure albums became a tedious experience...
Listening to an exquisite soundboard for 10.08.2005 Lokeren - Terrein Grote Kaai (Belgium)'Lokerse Feesten'. When you get High, The Blood, and A Night Like This in a row, it's a nice setlist.

Are you in the "for" or "against" camp for the guitar-driven-four-piece version of the band?
If you have a lead on Brisbane 21 August 1992 - CT version, for the love of Bob, let me know. Please!
Well, to the point, the opening to "A Night Like This" sounds terrible on this Belgium show. Like the band did not know what to do without a keyboard. Three years later, they adapted a bit better the guitar-driven song selections on the 2008 tour, but not having Reeves Gabrels to complete that lineup really hurt the 2008 4Tour (as is the general consensus).
Here's the full setlist for that marvelous 2005 show:
10.08.2005 Lokeren - Terrein Grote Kaai (Belgium) open, fascination street, from the edge of the deep green sea, high, the blood, a night like this, the end of the world, shake dog shake, signal to noise, push, just like heaven, a letter to elise, never enough, us or them, a strange day, alt.end, the baby screams, one hundred years, shiver and shake, end, E1: at night, m, play for today, a forest, E2: let's go to bed, why can't i be you?, E3: boys don't cry *thanks to Olivier & Manuel for sending this setlist*

Amazing setlist, shame about the delivery via 4Cure. Oh well, onwards.

Talk about living the art! Robert Smith starts croaking through "I am paralyzed, with the blood of Christ" in 2005-08-18 Avenches, Switzerland [Flac] SBD AU matrix.
Someone get that man some honey tea.

I made a tiny Cure collection for my cell phone at work. I called it "Pensive" and the track listing is:
Primary, Other Voices, All Cats are Grey, A Night Like This, Sinking, Like Cockatoos, Closedown, The Same Deep Water as You, Homesick, Untitled, Why Can't I Be You? (extended), A Forest (Trees mix), and Fascination Street (Extended mix). Closes with 2 Late (alternate mix from Disintegration Deluxe edition) and Delirious Nights (early version of Plainsong, I believe).

For some reason, Signal to Noise has been stuck in my head all week. An audiophile term, it's a fine love song and superior to a lot of the nineties and the 2000s.
Celebrating my 51st birthday today. At a certain point, you're just happy to be here and not worried about getting older. I even received a birthday card! When I was a child, my mother had 9 brothers and sisters and there was family and friends sending cards. Now I'm thrilled to get one card, time passes on.
Speaking of melancholy, there is the satisfaction of listening to the surprisingly good show 2007-08-12 - Rod Laver Arena, Melbourne Australia. I liked "How Beautiful You Are" on this performance.
This is just a year before my own first Cure concert back in the States. And this show wraps up with the (to me) familiar lineup of Grinding Halt, 10:15 Saturday Night, and Killing Another (no longer An Arab).
Listening to Matrix 2008-05-31_Los_Angeles_MATRIX and "Underneath the Stars".
I don't know whether I had any 2007 shows left to listen to or not. Windows 7 died on my laptop (it had set my files to hidden when I reactivated Windows Defender, maybe a malware intrusion.)
So I installed Windows 7 Ultimate, then Windows 10. Now I'm attempting to sort out 10,000 slow Windows 10 features. Like when I go to Windows Media Player to play this concert and go into this concert's folder, it slowly counts through the files 1, 2, 3 and onward while I'm waiting to just play the concert. Why is Windows 10 designed so badly? I'd like to pop the chief designer in the teeth a few times.
Anyway, enjoying this show on a rainy Monday morning...
