To be honest, I was pretty much devastated with news about festivals in America, for I expected some shows in Italy or somewhere else in Europe during September and later on... Now it seems very unlikely that I will have a chance to see them one more time during this year...

Yeah, festivals. The past couple of years have been predominantly festival shows & look what they brought out of the box. Just One Kiss, The Top, Bird Mad Girl, Stop Dead, Burn etc. & RS has (on more than one occasion) stated he enjoys the festival & outdoor experience.
But then look at the line up for this one. Not exactly what I would call "mainstream" acts really. This could be an ideal billing to allow them to play a more "esoteric" set and minimise the poppy material.
However, I will say that the line up for these ones is actually pretty damn good! Not only that, the ticket prices are a steal. We paid for 1 day at Reading what this festival is for 3 days. It's an absolute bargain.
I can only assume that they think festivals are a good idea because it's alot less hassle for them, personally. They can just rock up, play, get paid and generally have a good time. Solo shows involve so much more effort, hassle and money up front for the band I'm guessing.
As a Cure fan, I obviously prefer the solo shows, as the majority of us do.
But if I was local to this, I'd be going purely because I like alot of the other bands playing.
I'm pretty sure we'll get more rare songs, Robert has made it clear he's enjoying going back through the back catalogue and pulling out songs. I can't wait to hear what they are!!

Well, this time I am more than ready to take festivals with The Cure in Europe. But there is not a single one on the horizon this year... Again, I am confused with this chronology... Festival in California at the end of this month... Then nothing for almost four months... Then three festivals in USA and Canada in September... There is nice gap in between... And if they played indoors in March - they surely can play indoors again in October or November... But I am losing hope more and more really...
