I cannot agree with some of the reviews in there! "Other Voices" and "Cold" rated as "lesser tracks" or even meaningless???!!! SHOCKING! Other than that I really love the magazine. Enjoy reading, pip!
So, reading a review of a record that has been a part of my life for 33 years is a little pointless really. Journalists write these things primarily for the benefit (or otherwise) of people who have not heard the record, at least initially, although this magazine is a slightly different kettle of fish. I would guess that most of the folks here will have listened to Faith more often , more closely, and probably less objectively, than Mr Pattison (forgive me if I do you a disservice here Sir). It is interesting to read someone else's perspective on a record, but my views were forged many years ago. Having said all that, the reviews were reasonably well written and I enjoyed reading them.
...and, oh yes, Faith IS a stunningly perfect album
I don't like the fact that there is no any interview from Pornography era... Somehow, I expected that reviews will be more brave, more inclined to have kind of original approach. It seems to me that we have mainly pretty known territory over there, especially when evolution from Three Imaginary Boys over Seventeen Seconds up to Faith is touched. Also, perhaps a little bit too much concentration on significance of singles on albums... As far as I know they have never been crucial issue in the general attitude of the band. Some funny things, even from original prints (yes, I am historian, thank you), for example about Killing an Arab - of course inspiration for a song comes from L'Étranger (The Stranger) by Albert Camus, but it's certainly not a song about Algerian War of Independence (1954-1962). Novel was published in 1942. And always this story about the treatment of some things... Japanese Whispers - album or not? Should we have separate chapter about Glove? And what about cooperation with Siouxsie and The Banshees then? All in all, I love to have this opportunity to gain even more insight into The Cure, but I also really like to see one huge, rounded, disciplined and "canonical" issue once.
An impression of sound Then everything is gone Forever
I don't think there were very many (if any) interviews during the Pronography period. The band were practically not talking to each other & Bob was hammered most of the time. On top of that, the whole essence of the album sort of kept people at bay.

I'm getting worried mine got lost in mail or something... I mean I understand it was Memorial Day holiday this past Monday but I ordered mine on the 15th...that is 13 days ago... if it doesn't arrive by Friday, something is definitely up. I've ordered mags from the UK before. Seems like it doesn't usually take THIS long.... right?

I always thought giving them 28 days was a general rule for any international package?

Mine was posted by second class post, I guess yours must be the same - hence the delay.
