Terry Pratchett films - not half as good as the books but, still has gollums, Death, dwarves, a werewolf, a Nobbs and other strange beings. Death rides a horse named Binky.

Look up Foul Ole Ron and Cut Me Own Throat Dibbler as well - Terry Pratchett is a genius.
Oh, and the camel named You Bastard
Don't talk of worlds that never were
The end is all that's ever true
No, I haven't got the attention span to watch films plus they never seem as good as the books - tried the film version of The Colour of Magic and none of the characters looked or sounded like I imagined - I am weird but when I read I see and hear the voices of the characters - as weird as that sounds!
I am a bit of a Pratchett geek - I like the art as well, have a big framed drawing of The Librarian by Paul Kidby - not to everyone's taste but I love it!

I know what you mean, the films were a let down for me also, I have several autographed books by Sir Pratchett, he is a nice guy - shame he's on his way out.
Up to you really. You'll need to concentrate though. There seems to be several story lines that touch on each other. The first episode scared the bejeeebuz out of me within 5 minutes
