If Axl Rose can be professional enough to turn down his ego and turn up on time for ACDC then that says a lot about his lack of respect for his own audience and GnR :/
He actually sounds humble when talking to the audience on the Belgium tape. He is in the presence of greatness (Angus) though. I think the whole G 'n R thing is a giant cash grab. Slash just had an expensive divorce. Word is there is virtually no communication onstage or off between Slash & Axl. Duff is a nice guy (I see him around town here in Seattle) & is most likely the peacemaker/middleman. The reunion tour is extremely expensive in giant stadiums. I'm sure it is the Eagles separate limos model. That being said, Axl's vocals with AC/DC sound really great on both the Bon Scott stuff & Brian Johnson stuff. He's got a tremendous range & it sounds like he really worked & cared about giving a good performance with AC/DC. We shall see how the G 'n R tour goes. I have a feeling that there is some sort of trainwreck in the offing at some point. Remember the riot in Canada on the G 'n R/Metallica tour? The date when James Hetfield got burnt up. Axl developed a sore throat & didn't go on. Hopefully he's grown up some. There are signs of improvement although he did keep the crowd in Vegas waiting for hours. It will be interesting. I'm thinking about going to the G 'n R show but am going to wait & see how the tour develops.
I'm thinking about going to see ACDC but they were so good last time I saw them I don't want to spoil the memory! I did see Duff vaguely recently, supporting Alice Cooper and he played a couple of Appetite numbers. I'm still a bit gutted him joining Jane's didn't work out, he does seem like a decent guy. I don't even know if GnR have announced UK dates yet but I can't imagine buying tickets or going, it's so long since I actually cared about them
