Does this thread already exist? If not, I thought it would be good to dedicate a thread to those of us who love vinyl/record decks.
Maybe you want share what vinyl you bought, What vinyl your planning buying.....maybe want to share info about good record decks/ cartridges/ stylus etc etc.
Personally, I ADORE vinyl. I have a Rega PRP1 deck. I have started collecting vinyl again and have a humble pile at the moment, and would like to continue to collect my albums on vinyl where possible.

your name...like ice into my heart...a shllow grave...a monument to the ruined age...ice in my eyes...and eyes like ice don't move...screaming at the moon...as cold as silence...and you never will say a word...this is my name...and a strange day...ever and ever and ever again......
Do you mean all sort of vinyl? I mean coloured, limited e.g. 180 g etc. Most vinyls I have are from The Cure Don't buy from other bands records anymore (done that in the 80s).
I walk wondering why, the same dream so many times
Me too! Started buying vinyl records in early 2012 and got myself a not-too-expensive record-player. I only buy vinyl albums from my very favourite bands, though...otherwise my record collection would grow a little out of hand if I bought everything twice - on CD and on vinyl. I'm eagerly waiting for news on this year's Record Store Day.

Ouh what a great thread! I'm a vinyl lover too. Dealing with records is not only my hobby, but my job. As a child of the cd generation I amassed plenty of them, but I also began my vinyl love by collecting only cure records which soon grew to other things as my love for the format grew and grew. These days I mostly only buy vinyl. I genuinely get excited by unique pressings, and working through dilemmas on how best to organise records year? Genre? Title? Country? It all becomes a little world within itself. Apart from the sound and and the enjoyment of physically sitting down to play and listen to a record, I adore the artwork, type of paper, printing, smell, design on the paper labels...oh and how awesome are tip on covers! Ahhhh someone stop me. Such a dork.
I like the idea of vinyl and can't wait when I'll be able to finally start to collect such records. I know you need to take care of vinyl, do you have any specific tips for that?

Hi Gita, from my experience it's good to store your records out of direct sunlight and upright ( not stacked on top of eachother). You can purchase anti static sprays or felt cleaning brushes which you can use to remove dust from your records every now and then (the dust can damage your stylus). And personally I keep my records in plastic covers to reduce wear on the cover art and keep the vinyl itself in anti-static sleeves which helps reduce dust and other things on the precious grooves.
