We had this thread before and I feel it needs to be continued... So no The Cure are not "Goth" in the complete sense of the definition, Robert has said many times, "there is no description for what we do". But we have to admit, yes you with the black hair, black clothes, pale face and blood red lipstick (for some of you), there are Goth elements to The Cure and to us as fans not just in the way we look but the way we think, feel, act (at times) and, well, live. What are your thoughts on this? What do you think is the difference between Goth culture when we (most of us) were young as opposed to Goths today.

I found this article on "older" Goths on having to "grow up" a bit. It is brief but encouraging. Feel free to post your thoughts, articles etc...

Well I'll speak for myself, I'm not a goth, I do not dressed or use accessories like a goth, but this world has an irresistible attraction for me, I like him to be involved with it, that atmosphere. I'd love to be pointed at some party somewhere in the world with nice people.

I'm unashamedly a goff.
& not one of those clumpy booted, glow stick twirling posers or those numpties who stick fangs on their incisors & pretend they are vampires.

& yes. It is pretty easy to modify my look to be less extreme in the work place. I still have spiky hair & wear black all the time, but I don't slather my chops with white paint & pile on the guyliner.
People still take a second look, but it's surprising how fast you sort of blend in.
& I'll still be a goff when I am pushing up the daisies.

I've never been a goth, I'm me.

But I only wear black and I often wear clothes that do look a tad goth. And I like Edgar A. Poe, Bram Stoker, ghost stories, goth fiction, auld castles and stuff like that. But I love good music.

I hate labels, everyone calls me a Goth I suppose in some ways I am. I described myself tonight to my son as 'alternative' he asked what that meant, my daughter interjected 'it's Goth code for Goth' which made me chuckle!
