So this is really the only other song I want to hear live. (Not picky I know) They have not played this live in 32 years. I love this song. The reason I love it so much is because nobody on earth can do this song justice other than Robert. The way he sings it in that lamenting woeful voice.
I've always guessed at the meaning of it. My interpretation is the singer (Robert) is the onlooker in this case. He is admiring (or is maybe jealous a bit) of the "man" who looks so "safe". The man is comfortable in his own skin. The onlooker wonders how he can be so confident. Maybe the onlooker is not so confident, insecure perhaps. In any case, I really want to hear it at Wembley. Would make this year complete for me.

I absolutely adore this song too. I love hearing it live in 84 boots. I think it's on the Glasgow DVD too?
This album really is killer, it really takes me back every time I put it on.. I love listening to The Top with the b-sides of The Caterpillar mixed in after The Caterpillar
Shake Dog Shake Bird Mad Girl Wailing Wall Give Me It Dressing Up The Caterpillar Happy the Man Throw Your Foot Piggy in the Mirror The Empty World Bananafishbones The Top
Its tracks really are a testament to the full and diverse palette of sounds that RS can create...
If you have a lead on Brisbane 21 August 1992 - CT version, for the love of Bob, let me know. Please!
