well, then you don´t understand what I said.....I HAD an obsession, I get that now. and I agree with you that if you can't see over the cure, you do have an obsessing. And you are NOT in the wrong forum. You are a cure-fan, so you belong here! of course you can vote for an other album than the head on the door......that doesn´t matter. You should still be able to be critic even over your favorite band. There are also cure songs I don´t like, and find quite bad.....

Well in my case The Only Real CURE is THE CURE itself. But FYI no i'm not obsessed.I'm a FANATiC.THE CURE for me is more than a band like a football team, like an idea, like a religion. Everything else is just 'music'. So The Head On The Door was the best record for the year 1985 (for me and a lot of others in here,i guess). Case closed i think. And the next CureSpotting is..?
I used to feel like that figie. thinking anybody who didn´t hear the cure , hadn´t seen "The Light" Looking back now, I can see that I was Obsessed!, big time! (not with robert, but with the music). it´s NOT a criticism of you! I´m just saying what I felt. now, I see that there is a lot of different music, and the most important about what you hear is that you can relate to it. so I understand that there are a lot of people for whom the cure just isn´t the right band for them. they can´t relate to it the way we do, because they are different and have different problems.
To put the record straight :I used to be 'obsessed' with The Cure's band members a lot through the years and felt the way you just described. But not anymore, well in the way i felt back then at least,of course i'm more open minded to everything (including music) and be at my 37th year of age i have listened to almost everything and have owned pieces of music from almost every kind which is known and available to buy or download. But still 'Our Boys' coming first for me,on how i feel inside everytime i listen to their music through the years.Anyway, that isn't the point. As for the vote anyone can have at least to 5 different bands/albums,so it 'sounded' strange (somehow) for me a Cure fan not to vote for his fav. band but giving a straight vote to another, even if he/she felt like this was the best back then... My all time Obsession though is beer and now i'm having one,Cheers! @ p/n :i didn't wanted to criticize you i just posted my thought about your single vote. p.s. : And shall i mention that except three or four single tracks from the SOM i still find it hard listen to them, they made me feel bored so easily... But anyway, everyone has his/her taste and that is a fact.

no, the normal Carlsberg is Shirt. Heineken is worse! carls special is okay, but I prefer good special beers. they cost more, but also taste much better. there are a lot of microbrewery in DK that makes good beers (although most of them are owned by calsberg)

It seems like the writer has got bad taste in music, can't think of anything else... Or maybe Andrew paid him to say a good word!
1 9 8 5 you said? A great year in post-punk/dream-pop/alternative music in general if you wish. And yes your choice ranks among the best as it seems. I do like The Chams album 'What Does Anything Mean? Basically' The Smiths - Meat Is Murder Even Kate's Bush-Hounds Of Love sounds good to me don't forget about the Netherland's guys (C.O.X.) not their best though.
it was my first the cure album, it took a special place in myheart. i could mention albums you love as the worst IMO
your thinking about disintegration, right? that would be my no. 3, I think Show was the first album I listened to. galore was MY first (until then I just heard my sisters albums)

galore, the cure, bloodflowers, 4:13 20 listened divided four albums...do your maths wms : had as birthday gift if not i wouldn't spend my money disintegration:stimulated me to give up listening them
result from those albums i like a few songs, better live versions, i couldn't stand a whole album i'm an old school fan...maybe because the age
THOTD is your favorite cure album? think it lies in the middle/bottom half for me...
I think it's the perfect marker for a new era of The Cure really. No it isn't their best, but it's a damn fine piece (except six different ways which is utter pooh)
