..how the road people could horse up a short stretch of Arad Utca so badly. It took almost the whole of summer for them to resurface the road next to me and it was finally finished about 3 weeks ago. Today they have come with a cold milling vehicle to rip the surface off it completely as, it was so badly done, there were humps around all the drain & manhole covers

I feel you, steve. 3 of the 4 corners at the closest intersection are torn up to the point there is no way to safely cross the street (they didn't bother with a proper pedestrian safety crossing). It's next to a pre-K school and a highway. For a good cause (bike lane expansion), but terribly orchestrated. I gave a Dept. of Transport worker "encouragement" to at least get one more corner finished in the next couple of days.
steve They call my state Potholesylvania for a reason. I call it job security.
If it was potholes I'd understand. But it's a freshly resurfaced road. Where they've done the drain/ manhole covers it's all bumpy. Whoever drove the steam roller must have been hammered.
