As the US holiday of Thanksgiving approaches and we sit around getting tanked so we can bear being around extended family for the day it's important to give thanks for The Cure and what they bring to our lives year after year. After all, TC can help carry you through many of life's most difficult moments, including family gatherings.
This year, I am thankful for Carrie Keagan. With her bubbly, cheerleader-like demeanor, bedazzled outfits and stellar red carpet interview skills she was able to generate buzz resulting in 15.5 minutes of Internet notoriety for our boys, exposing a whole new generation of autotune addicted youngsters to the greatest of bands. Without you, Carrie, perhaps The Cure wouldn't have had the strength to finish that new album. Oh, wait. So on this Thanksgiving, with eyes turned to the heavens, we give thanks for you.
On a more serious note, I am thankful for getting to see The Cure's R&R HoF induction performance. Any year in which I get to see TC is a good one. I hope it's not too much longer before I get to see them again.
