OK, nothing 'post-watershed' from you lot, but have you had any dreams involving The Cure?
Last night, I had a dream that we were all backstage at a Cure gig, nattering away happily to The Boys - and Robert decides - for a wheeze - that each of us will be singing a tune for the encores, not a Cure tune, just any old thing that they can a. find the lyrics to and b. play.
What do I get?
'Rock DJ' by Robbie Williams.
Thanks guys!!!
The early bird might get the worm, but the second mouse gets the cheese.

An impression of sound Then everything is gone Forever
I knew there must be a thread about dreams here somewhere!
I had one night before last but was too busy to write it down before starting my day.
TC was playing a show at my high school (Go Titans!). My husband, a friend and I tried to catch it in the auditorium but it was far, far too packed to get a good few. Filled, of course, with people who wouldn't even know who the band was.
We exited the auditorium and went upstairs to find there was a balcony level with an amazing view, quite close to the stage and nearly empty. But it was surrounded by glass and we couldn't figure out how to get in.
We ended up finding my husband's old IT boss, who helped us try to find our way in through dark back passages full of servers, etc. We were just about to get in (I think) when.... when....
I woke up to pee. Really, so disappointing. Didn't go back to bed and try to re-enter as it was almost time to get up.
I always feel so let down when these dreams are over. I can remember a couple of other good ones from over the years I'll try to post here when I have more time. One good one involves Robert living in a tree / hobbit house.
This dream happened a few years ago and I realize now that I don't remember it vividly enough to write anything interesting about it. Most of my dreams about TC are show-based but this one was very different.
I was living in the woods and Robert lived a few hundred yards away in a sort of hobbit house / tree thingy. We were friends and I think I also lived in sort of a hollow tree. He was feeling really slick and stumbled over to my tree. I made him some kind of herbal remedy (twigs, bark, blah, blah, blah) to help him get better. I do remember that he curled up and went to sleep in the hollowed out tree.
No word on whether the remedy worked.
Dream Snippet #3
This one was also a few years ago. I only really remember one part of it.
I was outside at a show browsing the merch table, which was basically a bunch of plastic tables set up with stuff lying all over them. It was kind of like a church Christmas bazaar or flea market kind of vibe. The tables were set up in a kind of concrete courtyard and it was really dark. Nobody else was around.
All of a sudden, a young, 20-something Robert came up to me at the merch table and I was just thinking, "Wait, how have you escaped the masses in anonymity to come and browse the tables? Don't you have a concert to worry about playing right now?"
I just read some posts that described dreams people had about Robert.
What kind of things do you usually dream about?
I´d like to know! It´s always interesting, diving into other people´s subconsciousnesses! Hope you feel the same way... Specifically dreams about Robert & co we can share here... ;-) but also others--nightmares, the most beautiful of dreams or simply those which always return. So what about yours?
Mine are boring. I just dream of hanging out and chatting with him joking around (i think he has that sarcastic humor I love so much) maybe cooking something in the kitchen, singing with him stuff like that.

To the contrary, I think those are really interesting since I’m always wondering things like, “Does Robert ever clean the toilet?” or, “Who does the laundry better, R or M?”
Last week I dreamed I was idling in a parking lot checking the map on my phone. When I looked up there were members of the Cure (I think Robert, Simon, Lol) crammed into the back seat of a very small antique car. A large well dressed businesswoman with heavy makeup and jewlery, I think she was their driver/minder/agent or something, walked up and got into the drivers seat.
I was blocking them so I put the car into gear and drove away.
It would be so perfect if you would just fall out the window

I love it! I'm sure they need a "minder", like a babysitter, right? They look like trouble. Save
I had another dream about TC last night, which was obviously related to the France rumor floating around...
TC was doing a series of shows in Paris at an outdoor venue. Mr. K and I got the to venue early to try to get a spot up front. It was amazingly easy. There was barely anybody there (it's weird that this is often, but not always, the case in my dreams about TC; wishful thinking?). We made it right up to the barricade in front of the stage. In fact, several people who had been originally standing there left, so then there was even more space.
I don't remember anything about the set list, but I do remember a couple of things: about 20 seconds into one of their first songs, the sound system went out and there was a lot of scrambling around checking cables, etc. In that regard, it reminded me of the Slowdive show @ Brooklyn Steel a couple of years ago. At some point, I turned around and there were only maybe 40-50 people in the audience. I just couldn't understand it, but felt so lucky at the same time.
Somehow, RS ended up at a picnic table after the show with 8-10 hardcore fans and he was asking us what we wanted to do between shows (they were playing again in the next couple of days). He made some suggestions of things the group had done together before (outdoor stuff or bowling, maybe?) and we agreed we'd discuss it, come up with a plan, and let people know.
I had to fly back to the U.S. for some reason, but had made super stressful plans to make it back the next day. I soon realized I had to get back to the airport to catch one of two flights leaving for Paris, but that I would get there only an hour or so before the venue opened and then had to clear customs, make it from the airport to the venue, etc. And I had no idea who / how the plans for hanging out were being disseminated.
My first TC-themed dream in a while last night. Traveled to an amphitheater show by car with another Cure-obsessed friend (not a real person). We calculated it would take 90 minutes to arrive and planned our timing so we could get a place down in front. Got there in 30 minutes in time to arrive for sound check. It started pouring, so we sheltered in these campground-like structures with picnic tables and tried to find some food at the vendor stands, which were not open yet. Mud everywhere, but there were also some good dogs to watch. The toilets were disgusting and broken, and I was perturbed to discover I had only brought one joint for the whole evening.
