It was a different new album they were talking about in 2011 till it was abandoned. Hopefully this latest new album will actually get released! Would be a shame if 4:13 Dream ends up being the final album. It's good but they are capable of better and delivering another masterpiece album.

How has no one brought up the sound of the snare drum on Bestival...?
What's wrong with the snare sound?
To me at least, it sounds like he's hitting a tin can on the CD! To be fair though, I must be somewhat of a minority as it passed production to be released...
I don’t understand why GH, SOAB were included since they don’t include any new material. Still fun.
GH has Cut Here and Just Say Yes, but yeah it get's complicated with the compilation albums in the mix. That said, I think my vote goes to Galore for now due to the shortened versions of PoY and Fascination Street - both of which I dislike a lot.
Are the versions of PoY and FStr the 7” (re?)mixes ?
If you have a lead on Brisbane 21 August 1992 - CT version, for the love of Bob, let me know. Please!
4:13 has to go... some of it was great live and I really like a couple of the b-sides but the production, mastering or whatever is a mess
I never really “heard” the mixing or mastering issues lots of people complained about. Apparently that record “sounds bad”.. but how? What is there to compare it directly to? As in, is there a way to hear how it “”should” sound?

I think so (not at home so I can't check for sure)

Only by having it mastered so it doesn't brick wall even the gentlest tracks. Look at the wave form for Sirensong (which is a great tune). Then compare it to the wave from for Give Me It (not the remastered one). It is a good album, but it tires you out very quickly because it's just too loud.

Yeah I’ve heard those comments many times, but maybe my hearing is shot (no maybe there, it’s true) from too many concerts and waaaay too much time in band rehearsal rooms with a crazy drummer.
I’ll have a listen to a few tracks now before bed.

Every time I listen to 4.13, I wonder what the mix sounded like when they signed off on it in the studio and if anyone QAd the final master that was released..
It's a busy mix with a lot going on anyway but it has been completely squashed flat, there's no separation between instruments or room to breathe. Shame cos I like a lot of the songs - they're a lot better than self-titled or most of WMS
