Actually the video is even way more lossy than the audio.
The Sydney broadcast video is only 2.5GB.
At minimum a Bluray of the same would be a minimum of 25GB maybe 50GB.
You are right, although seeing these images from now to recordings of old transmissions of the 90s the image quality is not comparable yet weighing so few GB
An FM broadcast (from an audio point of view) would be superb.
I agree,
the bbc has gotten lazy over the years and just used webcast stuff which is so lossy it really makes the audio poor. Even if the video is hd and you rip it, the quality is so so.
I miss the days when the bbc actually did a good job and spent time getting the fm broadcasts perfect.
If anyone has a problem with iplayer there is also another site where you can watch Glastonbury live coverage.
do a search for free internet tv dot com & choose the channel you want.
Thanks for the link but to be on the safe side I've removed the direct link. Don't want the piracy police on our backs
BBC 2 TV can be watched easily (and freely) during the broadcast (without any registration), but still I cannot find any relevant info about a delayed FM broadcast of The Cure's Glastonbury show.
If this is being broadcast on an FM frequency (not internet or satellite) can somebody capture it from that source to get a lossless set please?
Finger crossed for an FM broadcast recording, please UK residents, do us a great favour!
As far as I can tell from the schedules it's only 6Music broadcasting just the audio & that's a digital only station Unless radio 1 &/or 2 do a rebroadcast at a later date. Those are both FM stations I believe. Trouble is, The Cure don't really fit radio 1 or 2's mandate. 6Music's the only station that seems to take on alternative music genres

Then I cannot fully understand this frase:
"BBC Two will broadcast the full set from The Cure later that evening."
BBC 2 (TV) will broadcast from 21 PM, Cure will be onstage from 21h30, so that will surely be a live broadcast, not a delayed broadcast.
