Any infos if the festival announcements are finished now...?
Well they are up to 20 so maybe that's it but the glasto headliners ain't been announced yet so you never know.
I'm pretty happy with my choice, Glasgow, hopefully a setlist full of the new album. Not sure I could take yet another gig starting with plainsong/open!

I'm pretty sure they will add a couple more dates. Paleo and Glasto are my bets. As for the the setlists...Ouh well 'Plainsong' will be the opener for most of them. New album? Hmmm... 'Step Into The Light' and ICNBTS count as new, aren't they?
The kiss is a great opener but I hope they start every festival with the totally awesome (fingers crossed!) opening track on the new album.
I hope it's not the plainsong/open alternating start. It seems crazy that I only got to hear the magnificent Underneath The Stars once live then they were back to the plainsong/open.
I remember glasto 95 where they started with brand new track Want. It was the cure saying we're back with some new songs and they are great. Jupiter Crash was especially beautiful to hear as the sun was going down. And Mint Car was instant classic curepop. Ok maybe WMS didn't live up to the promise of these three songs but that's debatable. But the point was that the band were confident enough in their new songs and wanted to play them. Starting the show with Want when they could have easily played it safer with Shake Dog Shake or Open.

I think starting with a new song isn't the best way to greet a large festival crowd. Personally, I love the Plainsong/Disintegration bookend or alternatively Kiss/Fight. I was never keen on Open/End though but we all have our favourites. I'm expecting 2-3 new songs in a standard festival set with the odd surprise here and there. Works for me as I don't get to see them very often.
I'm just happy that they're still around and I think they sound fantastic at the moment.

So far it looks like they´ll keep opening with these songs that you don´t want.
Since so long I was hoping for a wider range of opening songs but it´s unlikely according to the history.
