They will not be playing glasto as there's no chance of them being given the headliner spot. Bob don't play anywhere unless he headline. Remember live 8?
However, if you're organising a summer village fete next year, the cure will play it as long as there's a mill appearance fee and they are headlining above the cutest pet competition, biggest marrow and puppet show.

No chance of a new album now with festivals, even with all Bob's fake album talk. 11 years of nothing.
yeah, think you’re right.altough i’m quite excited with a possible trip abroad ( i’m in uk ) i’m also a bit disappointed theres no news of new music,or at least proper cure shows.....yet

If it was just a couple of festivals then there might be a chance of some real cure shows. But 20 festivals that will span over several months will very likely be the total cure 2019 activity.
Well apart from a few festival tour rehearsal sessions, gotta practice those bdc/jlh/inbetween/forest/lovesong/plainsong/Friday/fteotdgs/lullaby chops!!

I agree with you about festivals. I mean, I don't hate them, if it was just up to me I would never lose the chance to see my favourite band play live, but of course the excitement grows exponentially when you know you're going to attend to a 101% Cure show... but maybe it's just me and my naivety, hahahah. And as for the album, I'm practicing at remaining calm whenever they give us hints about new material... actually I think that the day when Robert starts doing 100% of what he says will be the day I REALLY start getting worried. That's why this festival announcement didn't let me down that much after all. I'm waaay more let down by the fact I won't be able to attend them all!
I’m so disappointed by this news. I really don’t think I can face another festival with The Cure playing the same old set list. I want to be surprised and delighted and left wondering what song they’re going to play next. I bet, if a thread was started asking people to try and predict the set list, we’d probably be almost spot on with what they will play. Unless The Cure also announce a new album or some new music somewhere, I really don’t think I can stomach another BST

It's not always the same setlist. After starting and ending the 1st 2019 festival main set with "plainsong/disintegration", the 2nd festival will begin/finish with "open/end"!!
Sorry for 2019 setlist spoilers
My favourite is the live sequence of... Deep green sea Inbetween days Just like heaven
Also known as the "Bob has picked up acoustic and can't be assed to change guitar again for a bit" section!

i bet they will add Primavera Barcelona, sounds like a good trip for a couple of days to me. Actually during an interview earlier this year RS said something about Glasto so yes they might be in there as well. From then on check about Festivals in Germany,France. Ouh and what about Paleo/Nyon and Wrechter? Most of the times history repeats itself, they say... Anyway,i'm really happy that the boys are back in town no matter if it is a Fest or on their own. Just act like it will be the last time ever.
i understand why they like festivals. i can't do them any more though. going to a regular concert is becoming more of a trial. festivals are a geometric progression beyond that. maybe something more scaled down will follow. 1 can hope.
