Hanging Around Books' latest release, “Imaginary Boys: The Cure 1978/80 " (HA015), features rare and previously unseen photographs of the band taken by Justin Thomas in London and Sheffield during 1978 and 1980 respectively .
As Justin states in the book's introduction:
"One of The Cure’s first central London shows was on 19 December 1978 at The Hope & Anchor; a popular but freezing cellar/pub venue in Islington. Intrigued after hearing ‘Killing an Arab’ on John Peel’s radio show, I headed there to see them. There were 12 people in the audience but that didn’t stop them pulling out all the stops to impress."
A5 paperback photozine. 36 pages. Digitally printed on recycled paper.

I think it's a great little book, only A5 and 36 pages, just a recollection of images of simply 2 meetings with the band, but a must have in my opinion...

I think so, the one page of text really sets the scene and it's a nice time capsule. And they look so freakishly young.
