Gah. Not sure whether to blame the media misreporting, or BST - but surely a simple yes/no re. screening isn’t too much to ask for! Much the same as with the wristbands for capacity controlled area.

We have held several days of meetings, looking at every way possible to continue operating a 65k sell out show headlined by The Cure, whilst simultaneously showing the Sweden vs. England football match tomorrow. We have had to accept that screening the match is just not possible.
Regretfully, we are unable to extend the event schedule or to start any earlier. Adding the football into the day’s schedule would involve moving several artists from their original stages and set times.
This event has been passionately curated by Robert Smith, alongside the event organisers AEG Presents, over several months. Making such huge changes to the schedule would impact the event programme that people have paid to come and see.
The event organisers also looked at all other methods of screening the football at the same time in other areas of the event site. Unfortunately, it’s just not possible to guarantee a safe alternative given potential crowd numbers and movement. Safety has to be the priority. We understand that there are fans who want to follow the football, and will keep everyone updated with developments from the quarter final throughout the day.
We look forward to welcoming all the band's fans for a great day of music.

I would miss game 7 of The World Series with my beloved New York Yankees for this concert. I know the game is before the cure comes on but just saying.
I was never going to miss anything for the game but knowing makes it easier to plan the 'gaps'.
Best thing is England lose - you haven't suffered through it and if they win then the next one is even more important and doesn't clash Also, smaller crowd will make life much easiwr to get about so silver linings and all that.
I am obviously going to spread a rumour that Bob has written 2 setlists - happy for win and the good stuff for lose
