Got mine today. Very happy to see Mixed Up again after 28 years.
It was an impulse buy, I was disappointed that the various eighties singles such as The Walk had a new sound. But I quickly got into the tempo, especially when I began to appreciate the Trees Mix of A Forest and the very soft version of The Caterpillar.
Never liked Never Enough or Hot Hot Hot!!!, though.
nobody saw them on any download site yet? is there hope it's more than just a line from robert in the booklet?
i wondered if he meant that they can be downloaded on release day from some cure website (like back then with the bonus songs from "disintegration").
any news on these three 80s mixes?
Robert clearly explains in the booklet that they didn't make the cut. For instance, the Extended version of Inbetween Days was someone using a razor for a North American release, he had nothing to do with it. So I agree completely with Robert's decision not to reissue someone else's "work" with a razor blade.
I am enjoying the second and third CDs very much right now. Hearing A Night Like This and Like Cockatoos deconstructed (torn up) like this is very pleasing. It is like getting a massive new album from The Cure.
If you're not fans of the original CD, by all means buy this for the two remastered discs!

yes, he did indeed explains why these three remixes are not on the CD. but if you read carefully he also writes about "the three that got away (albeit available in digital format)"... and then lists these three remixes with the info "remastered 2018". i will post the picture of the booklet which was already posted on page 6 on this forum thread again here.
i am a huge the cure fan and i am happy with the final product, i love all three discs. at the same time i would love to have the 2018 remastered versions of these three mixes "that got away" in digital format - even if they are, like robert said, a bit below standard compared to the rest on disc 2.
that's why i am asking here if somebody has seen a download website where these three missing remixes are on offer.
by the way: i know i guy from universal music, i will ask him about the three remixes as well, maybe he knows more.
short update: my contact at universal told me that they know nothing of these three missing remixes. they assume it might be released by robert smith on the band's website or such at some time maybe.
Hi Mr59. I have my own booklet in front of me, and I read the above photos as they were posted on this thread. I didn't miss reading them.
Robert clearly explains the reasons why all three mixes were left off this collection: they did not make the cut, i.e., they were not up to snuff, they were not up to his standards, they were not good enough, they failed the grade, they sucked, they blew chunks, they weren't all that. Pick your metaphor, they were left off for the reasons he lists in quite clear fashion.
Specifically, he opines (and you'll never get this on any other group's deluxe edition. Try finding negative comments on Bad Company's remasters):
PRIMARY: "Basically it's a 7-inch instrumental mix... I don't think either me or Mike Hedges were very much into" = SUCKS, not good enough
THE LOVECATS: "not really a remix, actually the original recording edited down into a single" = SUCKS, not good enough
INBETWEEN DAYS: "edited by person or persons unknown... I can honestly say I had nothing to do with it"
So in all three cases, here's why these junk tracks were not included on a 4th disc. Robert wants his best work on here, not discarded rubbish.
I'm sure the internet is a vast place, and you can hear them in other formats than an official re-release.

I bought mine at Amoeba Records San Francisco Saturday night and I can't stop listening to it. Its going to be the soundtrack of the summer for me. I love it.
