I'm looking at the picture of the cd set and thinking 'this should've been released 8 years ago'
The contents of the first 2 have been available for way longer than 8 years
I'm referring to this 3 cd deluxe edition boxset. the first 2 discs remastered and pressed on cd should've happened shortly after the disintegration set at least. Cds are not an ideal consumer buy these days..

Mixed Up is the “album” that introduced me to The Cure, so whilst I’m annoyed no new music is coming, I will enjoy this. Wished he’d include the original old remixes though.
If you have a lead on Brisbane 21 August 1992 - CT version, for the love of Bob, let me know. Please!
Apparently nowadays it's possible to have manufactured cds up to 90 minutes. Still, primary extended mix (1980), The lovecats extended version (1983), inbetween days extended mix(85)? They're much harder to find on cd.
Well, as usual I'd do things differently but i'll take whatever they release.
Not really. The current manufacturing standard is 80 minutes (used to be 74) & although you can get high capacity CDRs, there's not many burners that can actually overburn to use the full capacity for audio without damage. Also, they tend to not be compatible with some players. They're okay for data storage though. If there is anyone still storing data on discs.
Thanks steve. Out of curiosity after your previous answer i had checked the internet to see what was the maximum capacity of a cd and read some manufacturing process allowed longer duration, but i didn't check about the process. I'm always a bit frustrated when there a little something missing (you know the moto, it's 'never enough'), and these three missing original remixes are quite frustrating indeed, so I NEEDED to complain... Let's see if they release a cd of 'extra rarities' sometimes in a few years! What a mess it will be! (and more complains about missing things i'll write!
I'm quite glad that it's being issued on CD & not just some mickey mouse picture disc that'll sound dreadful. Maybe the regular vinyl will be okay like the Greatest Hits one was, but vinyl today is just a gimmick to get people to spend money. 20 or 30 years ago it might have sounded better, but these days it's pure luck, Stick with digital.

If my record store still has 'torn down' after the RSD rush then I'll buy it just to hear the remixes

Yeah...I think that it is a true thought!...modern times!
At night...I hear the darkness breathe...I sense the quiet despair...Listen to the silence...At night...Someone has to be there...
