I'm really astounded by how big this book is... Not at all what I was expecting. Didn't pay attention when I ordered it to the fact it is a hardback.
I have only flipped through it so far. I don't care for the photo editing. Some of it's pretty heinous, IMO. Not too many I haven't seen somewhere before, and tons of photos of bands related in some way to TC (some directly and some much more peripherally, perhaps?). But so far I see one beautiful photo of RS w/ S&TB that I hadn't seen before. They look pretty toasted. And Lydia Lunch, what a rack! I never realized.
The formatting is pretty wacky in that as a former teacher it reminds me of a textbook. There are call out boxes, etc. with weird factual bits. Where's the multiple choice quiz at the end of each chapter? One thing I do like the idea of is that there is a "suggested readings" feature throughout of works that seem to relate to RS' writing / the band, in different ways.
Despite the fact this book is a massive volume, I question how much newly penned content is there. It's a lot of bluster and weight, maybe? The editors used a TON of space for large quotations, albums with track listings, album art, various other material, and photos.
What I think this really is, in terms of filling a niche, is a reference book. It might be a good starting point for someone just getting into TC. I'm withholding judgment until I actually read it.

I feel like, after Lol's book, I'm less worried about MORE books... I know it's just one side of the story, but the "inside story" was what I'd been waiting for...
(I haven't found any other books as engaging - but I would love another 'Ten Imaginary Years' if we got our way LOL)
(But I can't wait to hear from folks here if this is good... reviews please haha)

I also haven't read it yet in detail, just browsed it through. From the first impression I agree with @notkristie it looks like a sort of general reference book. It contains some great (full page) pictures, some unknown to me.
On one picture I made a funny discovery. There is this picture on page 70 of The Cure in front of a map on the wall. I was wondering where this could be... The map looked so familiar. I zoomed in at the details and then I realised here's The Cure standing in front of a city map of my hometown Utrecht, the Netherlands! I guess this picture is from the same shoot as the famous sculpture picture, taken around the hotel where The Cure were staying when they played Utrecht on 10 May 1982 on the Pornography tour. On page 83 there's another one which must be from the same session.

I bought it this morning. I read that there are some untold stories from Cure members in it...Boris and Roger I think? Don’t remember. Something to do with the treatment of Lol and leaving the group.
The author says that Lol Tolhurst was dating Porl Thompson’s sister Carol, but when his sister dumped Thompson, Tolhurst took the opportunity to introduce him to the band.
