Yikes, you’re fully polka dotted. So hard not to have a nice, relieving scratch, isn’t it?
I so want to scratch them but they just get even worse. At least this zinc oxide paste soothes them a bit
Yes, imagine the immediate feeling of scratching, and then scratching some more. The instantaneous relief and bliss as the itching disappears with every stroke of your fingernails, so soothing. Ahhhh.

Day ???? of heat wave/high humidity yesterday, and my sister's last full day of her visit here. We walked to the Brooklyn Museum through Prospect Park. It was so hot the park was pretty empty. The Brooklyn museum is always excellent and we a free pass for up to 5 people from the recent field trip from a recent school field trip. It was one of my sister's priorities while here.
The first pictures are on the way to the museum through the park. You can see by the lack of humans (in a city where it's really difficult to ever be alone) how hot it was.
The museum pictures include one of my favorite paintings in the lobby (Kahinde Wiley's Napolean Leading the Army Over the Alps) and a still from a video tutorial by Duke Riley on making fishing lures from tampon applicators (DEATH TO THE LIVING, Long Live Trash).
We have a refrigerator/freezer for the first time in two weeks!!!!! I went crazy at the grocery store and then stopped by a friend’s house to get the remaining stuff of ours from their freezer.
Actually, while I’m glad it’s over, I feel very positively about the experience. We ate really well (less junk) and only ate out or ordered in a very few times. Our kid didn’t complain once. It made me appreciate how spoiled we are and how flexible we can be, even in the middle of a heat wave.
We also had a window that I ordered back in March replaced. The frame had warped with time so the old window would no longer open or close (vertically with a turn handle) properly. It leaked tons of air when “closed” and had to be closed by removing the screen, climbing a stepladder, and using pliers to pull it in. This is tons more energy efficient.
Trying to relax on the porch with a beer but it’s still 84 degrees out at 7:00 pm and a million percent humidity.
It was a beautiful day here in Pennsylvania. So this morning I decide I'm going to put on shorts and a tank top and go outside on my back patio to relax and listen to The Cure 1992 Paris. so I do that. I get the Chaise lounge all ready. Put the ear buds in, I bring out a drink, the dog is there in the shade. I'm in the sun getting a little bit of sun before it gets to be a 100°. And all of a sudden, I hear this person on a bullhorn saying evacuate the area, evacuate the area. so i text my next door neighbor To ask her if she hears that. And she said yes, it's the neighbor's kid playing fireman. He was going to go out at 8 o'clock in the morning. But his mother said he couldn't go out until 11 AM. And I said to my neighbor Hes going to need a fireman when I set him on fire for interrupting my nice, calm day off. What psychopath mother buys a 10 year old a bullhorn?
It's been very hot this weekend, up to 35°C, so I spent it sleeping and watching movies. Every time I wanted to do something requiring any movement, I immediately felt too tired and too hot. All my windows still covered with foil don't help to keep a decent level of energy. Although I must say that I broke into my own balcony. I couldn't stand that the water from the A/C was overflowing from the container on the raw, unprotected concrete, so I ripped off a bit of foil from one of my big balcony windows and went out to empty the container. The balcony, walls and everything look like a construction site. Well... which it is right now. I wish they would end it already.
And speaking of weather I can't wait for September.
But I don't see And I don't feel But tightly hold up silently My hands before my fading eyes And in my eyes Your smile
I mistook stars reflected in a pond at night for those in the sky.
Miserably hot here too. Had to spend an unfortunate amount of time helping my ex try and troubleshoot the A/C at his house (didn't work, had to call repairmen), so I think I've sweated twice my weight in water. Thankfully at my house the A/C is working just fine.

I broke into my own balcony again. This time I cut the foil in the other door to get a direct access to the container for A/C water without having going out on the balcony. As soon as the workers spotted I was empting the container during the weekend they stopped doing this! With the balcony floor concrete freshly covered with some sort of undercoat left to dry! If not my action the water would be dripping on this undercoat washing it off. I really don't get it.

LOL contractors! If they are like any I've had to deal with, the minute they think they can get away with not doing something – even if that thing is super important – they will.
I just had a drywaller fix some holes in my house and I specifically said "if you find any other spots that need fixing, please tell me and I'll pay extra for you to fix them too" After the last day, I noticed a whole bunch of areas that were right next to spots he fixed, that he didn't both with! So now I'm having to mud and sand myself.
Slept for 10 hours, didn’t get up until 10:00 a.m. (always wonder if my family is worried I’m dead when I sleep so late).
Spent a good part of the day on the back balcony repotting plants. It was super hot and there was lots of dirt everywhere. Then I washed and scrubbed the balcony for the first time in the 2 1/2 years we’ve lived here.
Friend of spawn came for a sleepover but I got to escape to go see a show shortly thereafter, leaving Mr. K to feed dinner to two 10-year olds. 😁 Easy 15 minute bus ride there, awesome show.
Came home to pillow fighting, which was happy. Now lying in bed with my best nap buddy, Murray. A good day.
