My copy was a gift from someone who noticed i didn't have it & I didn't have the heart to tell them why
You really hate it,don't you? :-( Such a pitty
No I don't. Not a pity at all. There's plenty of amazing music from them that more than makes up for it I keep checking & it's curious that there's still bugger all about these releases on the band's official site.
I really hope these get a CD release. I don't see the point of remastering something and then releasing it on scratchy vinyl (especially a picture disc). I don't understand the vinyl revival.
I have nothing against vinyl.
The coloured or transparent vinyls looks awesome to me but I want a cd for many reasons.
Want to think it will be a reality.
Let´s wait and see.
There Was Nothing in the World that I Ever Wanted More than to Feel You Deep in My Heart...

I agree... It’s VERY difficult with vinyl in the car... Hehe
Except great and awful. Mixes by RS@home are no guarantee. Some song remixed are great, whereas his 'simple' remasterisation of Entreat Plus ruined it so... It will be surprise surprise... Someone wondered if we could rely on the record title, 'Torn Down'... I hope it will be very varied and different like Mixed Up was.

On the french forum A Pink Dream some of us wonder what is the link between the band and Universal these days? We believe The Cure doesn't have to release a proper album through Universal, but it seems the company stills own the rights to release old materials (all the reissues/remasters) and also some new things (Torn Down). Anyone can clear this up?

wasn't the last official "new" release the Isle of Wight live record? that was on an independant label but since was a charity record universal probably didn't want it.

UMG most likely hold the publishing rights & so an release this stuff (even if it has been remixed). The other thing to consider is the length of copyright. In this case, I believe the terms are 30 years meaning if the material is released before that 30 year expiry, then the 30 years starts again. This is why there is an inordinate amount of re-issues over the last few years. What you have with Torn Down are tracks off each of the band's albums & so, effectively, those albums are still covered by copyright (unless they're re-issued with those particular tracks removed).
