This dvd is better than I remember it being. I thought it was awful when I first got it. The sudden camera angle changes, different degrees of fuzziness and sharpness, artsy fartsy shapes and colors etc were extremely annoying.
Now for some reason I’m able to enjoy it. Why does it seem that I only enjoy Cure releases in retrospect? Does anyone do the same?
I never really liked it tbh. It's hastily put together with a load of fan footage chucked in for some reason. The aspect ratio is all screwed up & the band sounds a bit under rehearsed to me.

I think The Cure enjoy messing with our expectations. There is a lot of good guitar on Festival 2005. I particularly liked what Robert did on The Kiss and A Forest. Also 100 Years was good. I also liked how they ended with so many early songs.

Actually Porl did most of the hard job,he replaced a lot of the key-parts with his guitar way of playin' for example in songs like 'Lullaby' or Play For Today to name a few. Don't forget this one as well
Plainsong (without keybords! who could have even had imagined it? not me at least) 4 Play / 4 Tour '08 was good as well. Some songs missed the 'keys' sound BUT it wasn't bad to experiment for a while as a guitar band for a while. After all their debut album back in 1 9 7 9 had no keys at all,not even a single chord,or wasn't?

;-)
Porl really did get to shine here a bit more than in past.
Maybe the worst Live-DVD I've ever seen. I didn't buy it and I never, never will!
Plainsong without keyboard??? What a rape of a masterpiece! The first time I heard it I thought "Hey, a new song!". After a few moments my chin fell down.
No, this line-up was not a good idea. I felt so sorry about Jason and Simon who were wasting their time and talents for this egomanic Robert. For me Robert wasn't the same since 2004. Completely unconscious. His mind came back in 2010 or 2011.
BTW: I saw them once in 2008 and it was the first and only show I left early voluntary...
