Blimey! I'm pretty sure all that will be way beyond any budget we may have lol
oh i know. the cure aren't the mega corporation the stones are (thank God). i just put up to give you some ideas you can nick on a less grand scale. maybe lol will ante up that copy of carnage visors hidden in his couch cushions haha.
Might be a bit ambitious but I'd like to see our stuff out on display...just stuff from our collections..button badges, old posters, tour shirts...I know it's a bit risky and takes some real mean organisational skills. I've had some nice psychedelic stuff lost to the bloody Tate before now. Yeah, a bit risky but with very keen organisation it can be done...

This is more along the lines of what I was thinking. You're right about the organisation though !

Although I don't have memorabilia if there is anything I can do to help for afar in Seattle, just give the word! Things might change but I don't think I could travel to England to see it but I would like to contribute if I can.

This would be really interesting. There's some great stuff out there. I went to a pre-show event at the now defunct Morbid Anatomy Museum before the 2016 MSG shows. For the "show and tell" portion (after a fun video lecture by Andy Harriman) one woman brought a small poster Robert (and possibly other band members, can't recall clearly) had signed post small venue 80's gig, IIRC. It was amazing to see and she had really taken care of it.

Thanks! I have the meeting on the 15th. I'm hoping that with the weight of the museum behind the idea we may be able to get the band involved but i would definitely want some fan input as well. Exciting times ahead!
So I have the meeting with the museum on Monday. I'm not sure if I will get any say on the date of any potential exhibition but if I am asked should I say the week before or the week after Hyde park?

If it's done the week after, more visitors might stay over in Crawley to catch Born to Win: Giovanni Pernice at the Hawth Theater.
I would think having it the week before might be a good choice. People traveling might be more inclined to come a few days early to take it in and it would help them get excited for the show. Since the show is on a Saturday people might have the mentality they would need to use Sunday as a travel day to get home, especially if coming from abroad, thus not staying the week after the show.
What are you thinking, or has the museum indicated, the duration of the exhibition might be, just out of curiosity? From what you said, it sounds like not more than a week long? Save
Well I'm just back from the meeting and they want to do it !
'From Crawley to the world- 40 years of the Cure' will be at Crawley museum to coincide with the two weeks either side of the Hyde park show.
The museum are attempting to contact Robert Smith to gauge his interest but I made the point that we should also make it about the fans of the band all around the world.
So come on world what memorabilia have you got that you think would look great at the exhibition?
renny We just tweeted & FB'd this so hopefully you will get a lot of input. Hey! Maybe the band will notice it too Nice work mister!
I would get in touch with Mauro Melis & William Soragna (@mauroparis & @billouparis on twitter) if I were you. Perhaps they could loan you some photography.
