Also why is Gabrels even in the band if they're not going to record something?
Robert apparently missed having a guitar wing-man over his right shoulder. Listen to 2011's Bestival... it's terrible.... The Cure needs to have two guitar players, and a keyboard player...
I agree and I recall Smith saying that when Gabrels joined the band. But it's not exactly a great creative career move for him if they don't record anything with him is it? He's obviously getting paid well but this is a bloke who's recorded with Bowie-he must have more ambition than to just be a bit part player!

I think I read that in 2012 (or was it just the first show?) he "played with the band" but later "joined the band" as a full member. One would assume it's for writing and recording purposes...
If you have a lead on Brisbane 21 August 1992 - CT version, for the love of Bob, let me know. Please!

IMHO he is not just a Player, some song are very different with him... i think Give me it with Gabrels it is the most powerful and dense live version ever!!! i saw thwm in Monterrey MX 2013 when they played it for the first time with gabrels... and oh boy!!! that was just simply awesome... and there are very songs that he has printed his sing in it...
Gabrels joined cos he heard the Bestival CD and thought "No, that's just not good enough"...
Even if they don't record, Reeves still has a very creative role in the band - that back catalogue still needs arranging before they go on tour and he's had a massive impact on how they sound. And it seems like they've survived the whole tour without needing to sack anyone at the end, the chemistry between them looks good!
i remember the bowie years with reeves, totally crap all of the albums from that period
really? Outside (1995), Earthling (1997), and Hours (1999)... crap?
yes hello space boy with pet shop boys was nice, and hours was slighly better than the other two, but not good albums by any means, and reeves certainly didnt raise the standards
