the flow of this song is really Alien, there has been nothing like this since. it continues to draw you in long after the words fade, and then I lose the words to explain the Feeling, perhaps drowning without fear would be a good way to describe it.
New to the forum, but I believe this one has a special spot in every true Cure fan's memories. They don't "deliver" this one often..Listening to several shows having this one on the list, there always seems to be a "bum note" somewhere in Robert's lead parts on Bass VI..Best version to me is Werchter 1990, with the trebly drum clicks reflecting the rain. Always enjoy every second of this song, will never get tired with it.
This is one of those 'soundscapes' that don't need lyrics to be interpreted, you just feel absorbed by the delving drowning vibe. The rarities instrumental is lovely

^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ THIS The whole piece is immersive. It's not the thunder, it's the whole feel of actually being underwater for 9 minutes or so.

I love this song, off of one of my favorite albums of all time. My interpretation of this song is that it is about depression and being involved with somebody who has depression and all the challenges that evokes. I could be wrong but that is what I read into it or maybe that is what I want to read into it either way it is beautiful song off of an album I consider to be a masterpiece.
