Switzerland. Land of cheese, watches & standard issue military pocket knives featuring a tool that’ll get stones out of a horse’s hoof.
But we can’t mention Switzerland without also mentioning its most iconic resident, that purple cow.
On the banks of the Rhine, the stones from which inspired Glen Campbell’s 1975 cowboy song & adorned many a Madonna costume on her Drowned World tour*, this evening The Cure head to Roger Federer’s birthplace, Basel, where figurehead82 , guillaume , slavo & Millhaus will be hoping they serve a volley of aces (I’ll stop there shall I?) in St Jakobshalle to compliment their feast of fondue accompanied by several Braubude Basel Schwarzes (goth beer?).
After a slightly truncated, albeit magnificent Bloodflowers based show on Wednesday, the most likely setlist would be Disintegration. But this is The Cure & given the country’s heavy connection to clocks, Seventeen Seconds is a distinct possibility….isn’t it?
For you scope hunters, Basel’s up in the north, bordering both France & Germany, so that’s where to zoom in
For scope watchers & our merry band of virtual gig-goers, this is the place as we try to keep you up to date with this evening’s events.
Now….colours, colours…let’s do something moo
